Does anyone know of a good secure group chat app?
It would be good to create a persistent Concen members chat that can live for a while.

Maybe ConCen could get one of those embedded chat rooms built in to the site itself, like MyAnonomouse has. If there were more active users, using comments and private messages is another way to connect, but I am not sure the site has a strong enough user base to warrant a chatroom. I know other trackers still use IRC a lot as well.
I know of one which will be coming on line called privateline.io. When you sign up, there is no request for email, phone number etc. Guaranteed to be completely private. I understand websites can also use this. I think it'll cost around $15 per month. I understand Chris Kitze is behind it - https://uspto.report/TM/98112624. Sorry for being so vague, I don't have much info on it as yet. Dave Hodges and Kitze make mention of it see - https://mediaarchives.gsradio.net/commonsenseshow/hr1011725.mp3 - mainly towards the end.
Just seen Threema recommended in an ITV documentary.
It's £5.99 for the mobile app, which you need to make the desktop/web app work.
If you'd like to try tox, add me using this:

Aren't people still using Telegram for sharing multimedia etc? I never really joined that bandwagon, so I guess I missed out. Didn't know it was now becoming passe...

centralised.
probably monitored now.
I noticed that, because I set it up a couple months ago and it said I needed to install it to my phone and, from what I recall, the username or log in itself was my private phone number, which I thought was weird for something touted to be super private and all.
The problem is actually that iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows have all been compromised by governments.
We're constantly monitored - just installing an app like Threema gets you on a list.
Then they can activate more thorough surveillance at will.
I suspect the only solution is Linux, and even then, maybe it's compromised.
the owner of Telegram got dragged in by the French and forced to give access or no release. telegram can no longer be considered secure

Telegram gave more user data to French authorities after founder's arrest
Pavel Durov, the founder and chief executive officer of the messaging app, was arrested in Paris last August over criminal content posted by users on his platform.

Messaging service Telegram passed vastly more data on its users to French authorities in the second half of 2024 following founder Pavel Durov's arrest in Paris, figures published by the platform showed.
The company said it handed over IP addresses or telephone numbers that Paris asked for in 210 cases in July-September and 673 in October-December. That was up from just four in the first quarter and six in the second.
Some 2,072 users were affected by French requests for user data – again massively weighted towards the second half of 2024, with more than half in the fourth quarter alone.
Pavel Durov was arrested in Paris in August, where he was held for four days before being charged with various crimes, mostly linked to control of criminal content on Telegram.
He and his supporters have claimed that most French and European authorities' requests for user data were simply not being sent to the right department at the company and therefore received no response.
