Hydrogen would be better.
Make hydrogen from water with electricity from Solar.
Cars then emit only water in the street.

I agree completely.

  1. Hydrogen can be used as energy storage when batteries are full, maximizing solar and wind efficiency
  2. Breakthroughs in membrane technology greatly lower the energy cost to separate the hydrogen and oxygen
  3. Solid substrates can bind the hydrogen, storing it so it doesn't escape and is non flammable
  4. Vehicles can be refuelled with hydrogen much more quickly than recharging batteries

they are using ammonia for ships and split off the hydrogen. ammonia they reckon is a good way of storing it... however from my very early days in photography making Diazo slides(white writing on a sky blue background" and that's developed using glacial ammonia.
I remember dropping that 5 litre bottle in the studio and ran like a mofo in meth into the dark room, warned my booss and we fucked off via the workshop at the other end of the building.
Fire services came and sprayed some stuff on it that seemed to turn it inert and non smelly.
i got a bollocking about not wearing the "grippy gloves" when handling that bottle. one positive though, i did have a blocked nose.... that fucking cleared it and the thought of that day can still clear it!

Hydrogen on demand invented by Stanley Meyer for any engine with any fluid in early 90's. Murdered by big oil. His invention uses resonant frequency to split the water molecule instead of brute force by amps as pushed everywhere and made to look like that is what Stanley Meyer used.
