... IMHO a better model to decode this film came from Jay Wider (http://jayweidner.com).
There is a documentary about it.
In a nutshell, the plot is Kubrick confessing that all the “Moon Landes” of the Apollo Project were filmed by him in a studio.

This one is actually Part 3 of a Jay Weidner trilogy on Kubrick films. I will probably upload a pack of all 3 of them sometime...
