In recent years, the plastic crisis has worsened. Images of dead animals and polluted oceans go around the world. The packaging industry thinks it has a solution to the problem: recycling. "100% recyclable" is printed on more and more bottles, boxes and bags. But if recycling really is the solution, why is more virgin plastic being produced today than ever before? Could recycling really be nothing more than "greenwashing"? This film takes a close look at an industry that would rather hide the problem than solve it. The authors track down garbage brokers who illegally dump plastic waste abroad, industries that make money from incinerating garbage, and mafia networks that now make as much money from smuggling garbage as they do from human trafficking. The film shows how some of the world's largest consumer goods companies use recycling as an excuse to continue polluting without consequences. We all live in a world drowning in garbage and this film asks the question: who is profiting from the plastic crisis?

did an episode of Bullshit! Bullshit! Season 2 Episode 5: Recycling and it rips a new one in the green crowd. there are more resources used, more pollutrion made, more fuel used etc than to make fresh from source plus there's the toxic leftovers from recycling.
I'll see if i can dig it out and post the episode

Yeah, and as it turns out, very little of our plastic we put in the recycling box is even recyclable! A lot of it is a shit mix of different plastics that nothing can be done with, so it usually ends up being burned or thrown out somewhere...

I still can never throw plastic in the garbage. At least some of it is successfully recycled, especially depending on where you are from. But the information in this documentary doesn't really surprise me much!

here yah go bud

This plastic is purposefully designed and produced en masse to pollute and destroy our earth as much possible. There are perfectly nature friendly options, for every scenario involving plastics, which are banned and suppressed. This is an invisible war so sneaky and sleazy and backstabbing that it actually looks good on the surface. This tactic is employed in many other areas of commerce to destroy our earth and completely enslave mankind. It is up to us to rip apart this "voluntary" slavery presumption and assumption system of our participation.
There are inventions and machines invented to break down these plastic but they are bought up and shelved or out right suppressed and ridiculed. The ultimate hidden agenda is destruction of our paradise and true power and basically turn us into an energy source as in the matrix movies one way or another. It is seriously fucked up how evil and sneaky this shit is. The second you start digging a bit deeper you start to notice how corrupt and full bullshit everything is that is pushed officially and publicly.

From what I remember from the last documentary I watched about plastic, it's the Big Oil companies that are almost 100% to blame for the huge proliferation of new plastic products in the world, which many countries are unable to deal with in regards to recycling and garbage disposal. We're talking Exxon, Shell, Chevron etc etc - oil is made into plastic. So not only can we thank Big Oil for fossil fuels burning up and polluting the planet, but we can also thank them for a worldwide plastic pollution calamity as well! :0

That is correct, The oil cartels and harmaceutical cartels are hell bent on destruction of us; gods. But they cannot do it outright in the open and very obvious. It is done very very sleazy with sabotage and backstabbing trust violating ridicule and subtle threats or payoff with big $$. It is an invisible war

developed a plastic munching bacteria but big gay oil squashed that pretty quickly.

so not hidden, not squashed but coming into use after research and may even make vanillin from one of the resulting monomers.
