We can use maths to predict things that we can test - like the flight of a cannonball or airplane.
We can also use maths to predict things that you and I cannot test personally, like putting a man on the moon or a satellite in orbit.
I was actually doing this age 13 with Estes model rockets. It's very easy, and the same principles apply to small rockets as big ones.
Give me the resources of 1960s NASA and I can put you on the moon. I'm not sure it's worth bringing you back again.

I can do the maths to calculate the curvature, or orbits, or rocket launches - and I have tested it WITH MY OWN ROCKETS.

as a thought experiment you can do yourself, imagine a glass of water. is that water curved? make the glass bigger. and bigger, till its the size of a swimming pool. does that water curve? now make the swimming pool in your mind the size of a lake, then an ocean. did it start curving at any point along the way? i dont think so.
