These are really good introductory documentaries for muggles who need to learn how corrupt the food industry is, and how science gets twisted to suit profits.

Can anyone find these in higher quality? The last three are on here, separately.

The Men Who Made Us Fat

E01 · Episode 1 - 14 Jun 2012
Around the world, obesity levels are rising. More people are now overweight than undernourished. Two thirds of British adults are overweight and one in four of us is classified as obese. Jacques Peretti traces those responsible for revolutionising our eating habits, to find out how decisions made in America four decades ago influence the way we eat now.

E02 · Episode 2 - 21 Jun 2012
Jacques Peretti investigates how the concept of `supersizing' changed our eating habits forever. How did we - once a nation of moderate eaters - start to want more? Speaking to Mike Donahue, former McDonalds Vice-President, Peretti explores the history behind the idea of supersizing in the fast-food industry and examines the story behind the introduction of value meals, king-size snacks and multi-buy promotions.

E03 · Episode 3 - 28 Jun 2012
Jacques Peretti examines assumptions about what is and is not healthy. He also examines how product marketing can seduce consumers into buying supposed `healthy foods' such as muesli and juices, both of which can be high in sugar. Speaking with Simon Wright, an `organic consultant' for Sainsbury's in the 1990s, Jacques learns how the food industry cashed in on public concern around salmonella, BSE and GM crops.

The Men Who Made Us Thin

Episode 1

As obesity escalates, the diet business is booming. In this four-part series, Jacques Peretti investigates the connections between obesity and weight loss, and confronts some of the men making a fortune from our desire to become thin.

Jacques examines the scientific reasons why so many diets fail long term and why - in spite of this failure - we go back to them again and again. He also speaks to a former director of Weight Watchers and meets other industry leaders, including Slimfast billionaire Danny Abrahams and Pierre Dukan, of the Dukan diet.

Episode 2

In the second of this four-part series, Jacques Peretti charts the story of the fitness industry and examines the links between exercise and weight loss. He speaks to the former Global Head of Health at PepsiCo and asks why the food industry puts so much money into promoting exercise.

Peretti also examines some of the pharmaceutical solutions available for weight-loss as he tells the story of the race to find a safe and effective pill to make us thin.

Episode 3

Jacques Peretti continues his examination of the weight-loss industry and discovers how the World Health Organisation's recognition of obesity as an epidemic provided millions of new customers for the industry. He also explores some of the latest developments in bariatric surgery and asks how far these trends will go.

Episode 4

In the final instalment of this four-part series, Jacques Peretti asks why the world's population continues to get fatter, despite the fact that billions are spent on weight loss every year. He travels to America to investigate the parallels between food companies and the tobacco industry and meets the activists battling to introduce laws to tax fatty and sugary foods - and facing fierce resistance from industry.
