Documenting Hate: New American Nazis investigates white supremacist groups in America — in particular, a neo-Nazi group, Atomwaffen Division, that has actively recruited inside the U.S. military. The investigation documents the group’s terrorist objectives examines how civilian and military authorities have responded, and shows how the group has gained strength in recent years.

The group calls for racially motivated, “lone wolf” terror attacks like the deadly anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. Atomwaffen members or associates have been charged in five murders and it has even run “hate camps” offering military-style training across the U.S. The group is part of a broader surge in white supremacist activity in the United States. The FBI’s 2017 statistics showed an increase in hate crimes reported to the agency for the third straight year.
