The problem with all of what people believe in or claim to believe in is that they don't understand the origins of those myths. They are mostly stories of the electrical and plasma interactions of the planets (God and the gods) in a different and unstable alignment. Try reading Immanuel Velikovsky's work as well as the works of Wallace Thornhill and David Talbot so you can understand that the whole Abrahamic belief system is built upon mythinterpretations (see what I did there ;) ).
Unfortunately, there have been defense mechanisms built into those religions and they prevent people, like you, from questioning what they believe. As long as you don't investigate and ask questions of what you think is true, you will be a slave to your beliefs and to those that manipulate you because of your beliefs. The psychopaths that are in power use anything to keep themselves in power and that includes playing whatever role or saying whatever they think will keep them there. Savior, saint or devil doesn't matter to them. As long as it keeps you in fear and predictable, they will play those cards.
