The Trap - What Happened to Our Dream of Freedom (2007)

The Trap - What Happened to Our Dream of Freedom is a BBC documentary series by English filmmaker Adam Curtis, well known for other documentaries including The Century of the Self and The Power of Nightmares. It began airing in the United Kingdom on BBC Two on 11 March 2007. The series consists of three one-hour programs which explore the concept and definition of freedom, specifically, how a simplistic model of human beings as self-seeking, almost robotic creatures led to today's idea of freedom. It talks about the modern political realities, where the policies came from and the massive failures of those ideals and how they have ended up exactly where they did not want to be.

Comment: These cold blooded theories of systems analysis are completely materialistic and without any faith in GOD and higher powers such as intuition and inspiration, and they will inevitably lead to a totalitarian new world order of total control, total surveillance and total lack of free choice and individuality. The new world order will be managed by computers and the beast will be based on quantum-computing and this will inevitably result in a complete disaster for humankind. Your opinion of others will no longer be based on personal experience but based on social conditioning, mind control and political indoctrination. This centralization of information processing will lead to the "Soviet syndrome", the type of centralization of the Soviet economy that resulted in its total failure - because of an extreme overload of centralized systems of information processing and because of the failure of numerical and scientific systems to really understand what human life is all about. Humanity will have to learn this lesson by its own mistakes.

The inconsistencies and contradictions of a plan based on a specific concept will never be unmasked by that very concept the plan was based on in the first place. Only experience and failure will teach those lessons. Don't try to manage the world, you cannot even manage your mother in law. The collectivist element of society is inevitable if you want to have a society at all but it has to emerge at the grassroots-level of social interaction and natural human emotions resulting in collective responsibility and not be based on a god-like state-authority and centralized Orwellian control-systems reducing holy human beings to insects that may be sacrificed any moment for the alleged greater good of a collectivist ideal soon to become obsolete anyway. Those who reject GOD, the heavenly Father, will worship "the state" as their god and that god will be called Lucifer. Life is just too complex and too multilayered to be managed by the little human intellect and by man-made computer systems and you cannot squeeze the opulence of life into any ideology.
