For centuries, sky watchers have reported various anomalies connected to dear Luna. From strange lights to odd formations, many have fearlessly published their findings.
Many have suggested causes from a lunar atmosphere to extraterrestrial presences, depending upon the anomaly.
I've collected a short list of documents that provide a bit of an introduction to these curious sights. The recommended order of viewing is as follows:
1) the REAL reason why they haven_t been back to the Moon.mp4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIW2cLOgMl8
This video provides some examples of lunar anomalies, including strange spheric lights and inexplicable surface formations ('The Shard' and 'Tower'). It refers to NASA R277, available in two forms:
2) 6404213-Nasa-Technical-Report-Nasa-Tr-R277-Chronological-Catalog-of-Reported-Lunar-Events-From-1540-to-1966.pdf
http://www.scribd.com/doc/6404213/Nasa-Technical-Report-Nasa-Tr-R277-Chr...
This appears to be the original, 1966 draft of the next document, which contains a short introduction and a written list of anomalies compiled from historical records.
3) Chronological Catalog Of Reported Lunar Events-NASA TR R-277.pdf
http://www.astrosurf.com/lunascan/papers/R-277.pdf
This one seems to be the final July, 1968, report of lunar anomalies with far more prose.
4) lo384orig-TheShard.png

See also "Tower on the Moon filmed by amateur":

This is a still photo of The Shard from Orbiter 3 which has caused many-a head-scratching. The ATS threads above provide some interesting dialogue, too, and are worth exploring.
5) The towers on the dark side of the moon.mp4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_4lH_tsac4
A slideshow of a zoom-in on a lunar structure of some sort.
6) HUGE tower like structures on the Moon-MUFON case 34641.mp4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0zm5oXLbIw
This video was recorded by an amateur astronomer from our planet's surface using a Celestron telescope pointed at a lunar structure. The video poster's got a good dialogue going on the YouTube page.
