Trevor Phillips confronts some uncomfortable truths about racial stereotypes. For a diverse society to succeed, do we have to be more open and honest, and get more used to giving and taking offence?
The documentary, "Things We Won’t Say About Race That Are True" (Channel 4) is an examination of where we are all at with our grand experiment in multiculturalism – what’s gone well and what we might try doing differently in the future.
In Phillips’ view, the well-intentioned work of the EHRC to stamp out racial bigotry has succeeded mainly in creating a climate of fear in which it has become impossible to publicly identify social problems or investigate criminal activities with an ethnic dimension because those doing so will either be ignored or vilified as racists.

Was really surprised that
Was really surprised that such a documentary was produced and shown on mainstream television in the UK. I don't think it would ever be shown on American television. Although the documentary tackled the matter with a velvet glove, it must have had more than a few people cringing - especially the first segment.
