THE SPOOK BOOK: A Strange and Dangerous Look at Forbidden Technology

Though written in 1989 much of this book still stands on its own today. The majority of this book deals with wiretapping secrets. But their are also chapters on re-activating practice grenades, building homemade missiles, locksmithing and breaking & entering secrets, and a host of other interesting chapters. For the last 20 years I've deliberately not drawn attention to this book because I wanted to keep all this stuff to myself. Now that it's almost impossible to find I guess I'll plug it. The author, Mick Tyner, whose real name is Dr. Steven Polk, also wrote the MEDICAL STUDENTS SURVIVAL GUIDE, SPOOK BOOK II, BASEMENT BUGGER'S BIBLE, and SURVEILLANCE AUDIO AMPLIFIERS. All of these books are definately worth a read if you can find them. That last book on the list has a final chapter that was supposed to go in SPOOK BOOK II but didn't make it. The section on taking out guard dogs is priceless-- and I can verify it works like a charm (without any permanent harm to the animal). All of these books are highly recommended. BTW, for the uninformed, the word "spook" is slang for spy.
