Sniper Shootout in Oakland

Sniper Shootout in Oakland: Police Negotiations Fail, Civil Unrest Begins in California

In an incident reminiscent of a war torn third world country, officers were sniper fired upon from an Oakland apartment building during an arrest. The officers backed down and called for additional resources," said OPD Lt. David Elzey. Officers searched the building after the shooting stopped but they did not find the shooter or any weapons. Police say the building did have video surveillance cameras, but the system was vandalized. This incident is third officer-involved shooting in two days for Oakland. On Saturday morning, BART and Oakland police officers fatally shot a man near the Fruitvale BART station after he reportedly charged at officers with knives in both hands. Then, around midnight Sunday, a DUI traffic stop on I-580 turned into a gun battle between the driver, who wore body armor and had multiple weapons, and CHP officers. The gun fight ended after CHP officers shot the driver multiple times but did not kill him.

In a very dangerous precedent for the rest of the country, Oakland police salary negotiations have failed. One of the nation's most crime-ridden cities had to lay off almost 10 percent of its police force. To start, 80 officers have been laid off. The dismissals leave the embattled department with 696 officers in a city of more than 400,000 residents. During Negotiations, Chief Anthony Batts listed exactly 44 situations that his officers will no longer respond to and they include grand theft, burglary, car wrecks, identity theft and vandalism. He says if you live in Oakland and one of the above happens to you, you need to let police know on-line.

Here's a partial list:

burglary

theft

embezzlement

grand theft

grand theft:dog

identity theft

false information to peace officer

required to register as sex or arson offender

dump waste or offensive matter

discard appliance with lock

loud music

possess forged notes

pass fictitious check

obtain money by false voucher

fraudulent use of access cards

stolen license plate

embezzlement by an employee (over $ 400)

extortion

attempted extortion

false personification of other

injure telephone/ power line

interfere with power line

unauthorized cable tv connection

vandalism

administer/expose poison to another

Victims would have to report those and other crimes online. As a result of the layoffs, Oakland Police Chief Anthony Batts has had to eliminate all 63 officers who work closely with community groups to prevent crime and address community safety issues. These officers comprised the lion's share of the law enforcement side of the community policing equation. It looks like Oakland will be the test case for self preservation in a violent large city. Our advise would be to immediately move. If you live in Oakland, being armed and wearing body armor seem to be your only recourse against crime.

Comment from mannyblack on July 18, 2010: the homie and I were chillin' in the kitchen and we heard gunshots. then they just kept coming and we realized that it was something really going on up the street. so we head to the living room and we can see cop cars converging on the street. This video is about 5-7 minutes into the shootout, from the westside of the 400 block of Oakland Avenue. Audio is probably more descriptive than the actual video because our window faces the freeway but the trees and darkness blocked our view. plus we were NOT trying to get shot!

Comment: No this isn't happening in Iraq, this is the US. We will see much more of this in the time to come, this is just the start. But hey, that's what the Illuminati wanted, the total collapse of law and order. Ordo ab chao. China will be the nucleus of the NWO and not the US. When will the American people finally stand up against corporate-sponsored state-terrorism? When will they finally put an end to the government's notorious anti-Iran hate speech?
