This is an updated version of my previous Christmas release. I fixed some more OCR errors and I also did an OpenOffice version that is a little more copy/paste friendly than the PDF. This release should be an almost 100% perfect copy of the book.
Original Description:
Finished at last, here is my Christmas gift to ConCen. This is a pretty rare book and a very interesting read for Biblical scholars and anyone that wants to know more about the Christmas story.
Merry Christmas ConCen!
Description taken from back cover:
Vatican Library Discovery Reveals the Wise Men’s Astonishing Version of the Christmas Story
“Unread for centuries, the Revelation of the Magi retells the biblical story of the three wise men, expanding their minor role in the Christmas story into an epic tale of prophetic revelation. In a new, lucid translation, Landau offers English readers a chance to hear this remarkable story for the first time.”
—KAREN L. King, Hollis Professor of Divinity,
Harvard University, author of The Secret Revelation of John
“The story of the Magi has been recited, performed, and featured in art. Here this fascinating story is presented in a remarkable new version, and the result is a tale that is astonishing, delightful, and theologically sophisticated.”
—Marvin Meyer, Griset Professor of Religious Studies,
Chapman University, translator of The Gospels of Mary
“Of the many earliest Christian documents recently discovered inside sealed earthen pots or on forgotten library shelves, Revelation of the Magi is by far the most fascinating. Landaus presentation—bright and sharp as a gemstone—emphasizes the unique challenge and radical depth of this ancient text’s theology.”
—John Dominic Crossan, professor emeritus, DePaul University,
author of Jesus: A Revolutionary Biography and The Greatest Prayer
“This lovely text, skillfully translated and accompanied by expert commentary, offers a timely reminder of a long-standing but often forgotten Christian belief in the breadth and depth of Gods salvation. Landau is to be congratulated for bringing this important and unexpectedly influential work to light.”
—JENNIFER KnUST, School of Theology, Boston
