Students of the Protestant Reformation will remember that after his trial at the Diet of Worms, Martin Luther was abducted by masked men and taken to Wartburg castle where he stayed in hiding for 11 months, but that was not the first time that’s happened in church history; 3 centuries prior to Luther’s kidnapping, a theologian by the name of Thomas Aquinas was abducted by his own brothers – nowadays they call that an intervention. Who is Thomas Aquinas? Why did his brothers kidnap him? Why did his classmates ridicule him? Why should we not ignore him?
