The building I live in
and many of the surrounding building were built by the Quakers and donated to Edinburgh Uni Medical School.
They were very big in medicine especially during the two World Wars.
Due to them being pacifist they could not bear arms however they could serve as Doctors and medics as , at the time, they were non combatants so no guns.
