Psychedelics in the 21st Century 2010 MAPS Conference

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) presents Psychedelic Science in the 21st Century conference, in San Jose, CA, April 15-18, 2010.

Psychedelic Science will showcase contemporary psychedelic research and psychedelic psychotherapy topics at the largest conference in the U.S. in 17 years dedicated solely to psychedelics. Three full days of programming will be offered with concurrent tracks exploring clinical applications, issues relevant to healthcare and mental health professionals, and social, cultural and psychological issues surrounding the therapeutic and spiritual uses of psychedelics.

There will also be pre- and post-conference workshops with Stanislav Grof, M.D., Rick Doblin, Ph.D., Michael Mithoefer, M.D. Annie Mithoefer, and others to be determined.

International experts in the CME track will present the state of the art of psychedelic science and psychedelic psychotherapy studies, including:

* Biological and neurological effects of psychedelic substances
* MDMA-(ecstasy) assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
* Psychedelic psychotherapy for treating anxiety and depression associated with life-threatening illnesses
* Mystical-type experiences catalyzed by psychedelics and their therapeutic implications
* Psychedelics’ role in the treatment of drug addiction
* Psilocybin research with obsessive-compulsive disorder
* Standards for conducting psychedelic psychotherapy research
