No special knowledge of physics is required for this course. This lecture should be useful to both PhD and novice but it will helpful to know the Objectivist literature: the history of philosophy as presented in 'The New Intellectual' by Ayn Rand, and 'Ominous Parallel' by Dr. Leonard Peikoff.

Why should you care if physics is irrational?
Because physics is the foundation of technology. Irrationality will bring such progress to a halt.

And the second way the absurdities of contemporary physics affect us: We see this rejection of reason on a cultural scale - in the rise of pseudo-science, drug addiction, religious cults, the state of education, Hollywood, and modern art.

Mr. Harriman has worked as a physicist for the U.S. Department of Defense and taught philosophy at California State University, San Bernardino. He is the editor of 'Journals of Ayn Rand'. He has lectured on the scientific revolution, the concept of “space,” and the influence of Kantian philosophy on modern physics. He is currently writing a book, The Anti-Copernican Revolution and the Fall of Physics.
