This is a collection I gathered and released for a private tracker but feel it would be of added value here also. PLEASE do not repost. I want this to be a rare torrent that will help boost membership to specific sites that have something special to offer. The archived information can be found on the internet by anyone. I just did the collecting and packing.

Omni was founded by Kathy Keeton and Bob Guccione. The initial concept came from Keeton, who wanted a magazine "that explored all realms of science and the paranormal, that delved into all corners of the unknown and projected some of those discoveries into fiction '. Guccione described the magazine as "an original if not controversial mixture of science fact, fiction, fantasy and the paranormal". Omni entered the market at the start of a wave of new science magazines aimed at educated but otherwise "non-professional" readers. Omni was arguably the first aimed at "armchair scientists" who were nevertheless well informed about technical issues.

Omni helped launch the fame of numerous writers and artists including Orson Scott Card, William Gibson, George R. R. Martin, H. R. Giger, De Es Schwertberger and Rallé.

In early 1996 publisher Bob Guccione suspended publication of the print edition of Omni, attributing the decision to the rising price of paper and postage. At the end of its print run the circulation was still reported to be more than 700,000 copies a month.

As a personal note, Omni influenced me more then any other magazine or book I have ever read. It made me curious of real word science which I pursued through my entire education and career. It began my love of fantasy and Science fiction which I still hold to this day. It helped me form my own set of morals and values when it comes to decisions that we will all have to make as technology advances. This collection is worth saving and spreading around.
