This five day a week condensed news program will deliver the days most important headlines with expert analysis, interviews and documentation, unscripted and teleprompter free.
On this Tuesday November 29th edition of Nightly News, Alex covers the National Defence Authorization Act for fiscal year 2012 (Senate Bill 1867, which I have included in this torrent in pdf format), which is all over the news. It is clear that US citizens could be detained indefinitely by the military, even in foreign locations. Senator Rand Paul had been speaking out on this, ensuring that the mainstream as well as the public know, and discuss this topic. The language of the bill ensures that, for detention under the act, you only have to be "suspected" of association with terrorists. John McCain has been adding his nonsensical rhetoric to the debate.
Oklahoma City bombing investigators at OKCbombing.net are now classified as domestic terrorists according to the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). A little later Andrew Griffin of http://reddirtreport.com comes on via video-link to discuss the story, as well as related topics such as the TSA and Black Ops.
Also covered:
• Plans for weaponised drones to patrol the US are on the table, now that they are able to arm them not only with tazers, but also shotgun like weapons.
• 130+ domains are seized by Feds in an effort to stop the sale of counterfeit goods in the run up to the holidays, and this comes only a week after 2,000 .uk websites were shut down without court orders, yet for reasons along the same lines.
• More news on the HPV vaccine, as GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations) announces that they plan on rolling the toxic injection out across the third world. GAVI is a group backed by the World Bank, UNICEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, amongst others and plans to vaccinate 240+ million children by 2015. Also news out of Australia from a few days ago is covered, that families who do not fulfil the full "vaccination schedule" for their children will suffer financial penalties via the tax system.
• The relationship between the US and Russia continues to heat, as Russia threatens to block NATO's supply routes to Afghanistan, if the United States and the West continue to ignore Moscow's growing concerns over the defence shield for Europe which is spearheaded by the US.
• An update on the situation in Syria as it turns out it is France making an effort to train anti-Assad rebels, and while this hits the news all over, the mainstream US news seems to have overlooked the story altogether.
• Also this week, French political administrators overturn two bans on GM corn, even though they were put in place by the Ministry of Agriculture.
• Colin Powell has been getting his face out there in recent days calling for the media to be prepared to leave certain stories alone when the government needs it, as he speaks in Austin at the "Get Motivated" conference. We also hear from people on the street in Austin, and their views on the Colin Powell led conference.
