This Week's Host: Stephen Lendman
This Week's Guests: John Pilger and Angara Chatterji
Since 1958, John Pilger has been an award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker. His achievements are numerous as a foreign and war correspondent, author of 10 books, and other frequent writings. He's also a longtime critic of Western imperial adventurism and believes a "journalist's job, first of all, (is) to look in the mirror of his own society" and report on it accurately. Current world conflicts will be discussed on the program - in the Middle East, the Caucasus, and elsewhere as time allows.
Angana Chatterji is Associate Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) where she combines scholarship, research, teaching, and advocacy as an academic, intellectual and citizen. In seeking social justice, she works with social movements, local communities, institutions, and citizens groups with a special focus on India and South Asia. She's also published numerous articles and research papers and authored a number of books. Her newest are "Land and Justice," Violent Gods" (on Hindu nationalism), and "Contesting Nation." The current Kashmir violence and Pakistan after Musharraf will be discussed on the program.
