Maria Gilardin founded, produces and hosts TUC Radio - a progressive alternative to the dominant news and information sources. Each week she features noted guests to discuss world and national issues.

TUC stands for "time of useful consciousness" - an aeronautical term to describe the time a pilot has between the onset of oxygen deficiency and loss of consciousness, the remaining time to save the plane. It's a metaphor today for conditions in America and globally.

Maria is a radio veteran. She began in Pacifica Radio KPFA's news department and was one of its women's department founders. She's also the founding producer of Making Contact, a weekly public affairs program.

Maria's work and her current projects will be discussed on the program.
