DESCRiPTiON : California's Valley State Prison has all the hallmarks
of maximum security-violent inmates, overcrowding, and a heavy drug
trade. It is the population that makes it unique. The inmates are all
women. And with some 3,900 female offenders, it is one of the world's
largest women's prisons. With violent incidents on the rise, staff
and inmates take precautions. Homemade weapons from screws and
lighters create fatal stabbing devices. Survival means maneuvering
in a world packed with drugs and danger.
