Rising out of Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital, is the KL-Karak Highway. For years there have been strange reports by night drivers and strange accidents. Some say the highway is haunted by a woman seeking vengeance for being made pregnant out of wedlock, others say her child was hit on the road and they both haunt the late-night air. Still others claim the area once belonged to an aboriginal people whose spirits seek to regain their lost lands. Some have reported flying witches buzz-bombing their vehicles.
This film, Karak Luluan Puaka, or Karak: The Ghost Highway, ties together the different threads that make up the Karak Highway fable, which is perhaps unknown outside of Malaysia, in a visually attractive dramatization.
Three different versions included: Malay, Malay with hardcoded English subtitles, and a Russian voice-over of the Malay with hardcoded subs. There are numerous errors in the subtitles but most viewers will be able to figure them out.
