Inside Child Poverty, is a documentary exploring the last 100 years of child welfare in New Zealand.

Investigative journalist Bryan Bruce focused on how child health had deteriorated over the last century in New Zealand. He painted a picture of hungry kids, mouldy damp rooms in slum-worthy houses, and rising medical and electricity bills.

The documentary claimed 150 children who died in New Zealand last year would have lived had they been born in Japan, Sweden or the Czech Republic.

Successive governments had failed to address the growing problem, and the most recent National-led Government offered little assistance or funding for Poor Children.

While successive governments have said they will do everything they can to address the issue, nothing much has changed. While they are talking and not acting, more and more children are going hungry, suffering from preventable third-world diseases and well on the way towards becoming dysfunctional adults.
