Illegal (2010)

Filmmaker Molotov Mitchell: Bent barbed wire is nation's only defense

This video series documents 'wide open' status of international boundary. There are locations along the U.S.-Mexico international border where some misshapen barbed wire is the only barrier to keep people in – or out – as the case may be, according to startling new documentary created by filmmaker Molotov Mitchell.

In a close-cropped image of Mitchell talking about the barriers obstructing illegal aliens who have been flooding into Arizona, he mentions, "By the way, I'm in Mexico."

The camera pans back to show him on the southern side of the barbed wire fence, and he promptly demonstrates the feat of piercing the international boundary, carefully stepping through the fence to be in the United States.

Mitchell produced a series of videos after being dispatched by WND founder and CEO Joseph Farah to Arizona to investigate what is the truth about the controversy over Arizona's state plan, H.B. 1070, to enforce a federal law against illegally entering the United States.

That law has been placed on hold by a federal judge who responded to the Obama administration's opposition to the plan on the contention that states cannot enforce federal laws. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is being asked to review the case.

Mitchell explained in the productions made in conjunction with Illuminati Pictures he went to Arizona first to visit a vigil there staged by advocates for illegal aliens.

"We don't want this hate to keep spreading around the country," an activist for the illegal aliens, Bianca, told Mitchell.

Mitchell said he could empathize with those who are trying to provide a better life for their families.

"However," he told WND, "There were other options. Not one illegal immigrant I met could explain why they didn't just do it legally. The closest answer I got was a complaint about how long it would take. And not one of the people I interviewed had ever considered another option. If Mexico's falling apart, why flee? Why not fix it? Why wouldn't they stay and fight their oppressors."

But a member of the Minuteman Project, whose members voluntarily help guard the border and try to prevent criminal activity, says such explanations from illegal aliens, as well as multiple statements from President Obama and other administration officials and prominent mainstream media leaders that the state is racist, are just attempts to leave the public "bamboozled."

He and other Arizona residents explained the impact of having thousands of illegals tramp through their backyards, post victims' underwear in "rape trees," and the aliens from nations unfriendly to the United States who also come in.

Documentation from volunteers patrolling the border, Mitchell said, revealed "hordes" of people invading the United States.

"This tsunami of illegals is costing the state of Arizona billions," he noted.

The evidence also contradicted statements by public officials including Rep. Pete Stark, who said, "Our borders are quite secure, thank you."

Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano added her comment. "I will tell you it is as secure now as it has ever been," while refusing to answer directly whether it is "secure."

A veterinarian, Dr. Thrasher, told Mitchell the border actually is a "wide open door to bring anything into the U.S."
