The Holographic Universe Beyond Matter

You perceive everything in the outside world in your brain, most people accept this fact. When you see objects, hear sounds, smell, touch etc these senses are sent to your brain as electrical signals. These signals are then interpreted and this is what you experience as reality.

This is a very important point, your entire basis of reality is just electic signals. For all you know you could be hooked up to a machine like in The Matrix, where everything you experience is an illusion. To take this one step further, you really don't know that the computer screen in front of you is even there, or even that the brain you think is the source of your thoughts is even a physical object.

This is also supported by quantum physics of course, for years they have told us that everything is made of atoms, that atoms are hollow and made up of even smaller particles, and we really don't know what the hell these smaller particles could be.
