Info File:

Many people will slate this film for being "peak" oriented.

In my opinion the whole argument is a diversion. We know the [snake] oil men manipulate markets, exert control and have access to more supplies than they admit BUT this doesn't mean we can or will continue at current consumption rates. Most of all we don't need to. Dr Steven Greer of the Disclosure Project claims we may only need oil for some plastics and lubricants - the rest of the uses are replaceable with the vast alternative sources we know are out there. And we're not talking just wind or solar. Stan Meyer drove a car from US coast to coast on just water. Strangely he dies a few weeks after Dept of Defense reps had discusses use of his systems in their tanks.

Japan have braved it alone and launched a water car :: See: http://www.exopolitics.org.uk/new-energy-forms/2008/japanese-break-ranks...

So it's not peak oil vs. abiotic or any other fake dichotomy argument that gets artificially focused on. There's a better option - it means breaking out the tech from covert projects and/or allowing inventors the freedom to design and produce without fear.

A Crude Awakening (also known as OilCrash) produced and directed by award-winning European journalists and filmmakers Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack, tells the story of how our civilizationÆs addiction to oil puts it on a collision course with geology. Compelling, intelligent, and highly entertaining, the film visits with the world's top experts and comes to a startling, but logical conclusion û our industrial society, built on cheap and readily available oil, must be completely re-imagined and overhauled.
