The British discovery of WWII German shells containing nerve gas prompted them, through fear of following behind in the development of technologies they expected the Russians to already possess, to develop their own weapons. This rare and shocking footage shows the British, test them on members of the armed forces, not always with their consent, and sometimes with tragic consequences.
