Chakra Meditation with Timothy Leary (1967)

Original Title: Timothy Leary - Turn on Tune in Drop Out

Leary and that counterculture mantra were greatly feared enemies of the establishment in the '60s; in fact, these recordings at the Millbrook estate were made just before raids ended Leary's stay there. This is the first reissue of the 1966 ESP-Disk vinyl release; he expounds on the elevation of human consciousness, the temple of your body and the psycho-chemical revolution!

WARNING - there are 2 very different Timothy Leary CDs with the same name: Just to save anyone from making the same mistake as I did, the Turn on, Tune In, Drop Out CD with a black-and-white triple image of Timothy Leary's face is COMPLETELY different to the CD of the same name with the colorful psychedelic cover. The latter is a fantastic indo-psych album, a must-have for anyone who likes music of that era, a musical description of a psychedelic experience that makes compulsive listening. The black-and-white CD is just snippets of Timothy Leary speaking on different subjects with no musical accompaniment other than the occasional gong. It could be interesting, I still haven't listened to much of it as I was so disappointed to get the wrong CD that I just put it aside and went back and ordered the one I'd really wanted. Like others, I'd just assumed it was the same album in a different cover, that maybe one was the US and the other the UK cover. But no, the b/w one is just a monologue without music, so make sure you know exactly which one you're ordering. Someone should inform Amazon so they can correct this entry.

Drift within on thread of sound!
