The Vatican In World Politics
The importance of this book cannot be exaggerated. Properly understood, it offers both a clue and a key to the painfully confused political situation that shrouds the world. No political event or circumstance can be evaluated without the knowledge of the Vatican's part in it. And no significant world political situation exists in which the Vatican does not play an important explicit or implicit part.

Latin America and the Vatican
How has the Vatican a spiritual institution, obtained such domination over Latin America that, to-day it is able to bargain with the United States on an equal footing and even to impose its own terms? And how has it come about that Washington and the Vatican two Powers with such' diverse natures, functions, and aims have now adopted a common policy towards Central and South America? That is what we, shall now try briefly to survey.

The Vatican's Holocaust
THE VATICAN'S HOLOCAUST is not a misnomer, an accusation, and even less a speculation. It is an historical fact. Rabid nationalism and religious dogmatism were its two main ingredients. During the existence of Croatia as an independent Catholic State, over 700,000 men, women and children perished. Many were executed, tortured, died of starvation, buried alive, or were burned to death. Hundreds were forced to become Catholic. Catholic padres ran concentration camps; Catholic priests were officers of the military corps which committed such atrocities. 700,000 in a total population of a few million, proportionally, would be as if one-third of the USA population had been exterminated by a Catholic militia. What has been gathered in this book will vindicate the veracity of these facts. Dates, names, and places, as well as photos are there to prove them. They should become known to the American public, not to foster vindictiveness, but to warn them of the danger, which racialism and sectarianism, when allied with religious intolerance can bring to any contemporary nation, whether in Europe or in the New World. This work should be assessed without prejudice and as a lesson; but even more vital, as a warning for the future.

Catholic Imperialism and World Freedom
The vastness of this survey has inevitably focused a great deal of this work upon the global activities of the Vatican and of the U.S.A. on the one side, and of Soviet Russia and World Communism on the other. As it is meant to examine the world activities of the Catholic Church and of the U.S.A., and not those of their opponents, to have enlarged also upon those of the latter would have required another volume. Whenever the U.S.A. or Soviet Russia are mentioned, they are mentioned only in so far as their or Vatican policies have affected the contemporary global scene, whose implications consequently cannot be ignored. Abundant notes and references are made throughout each chapter, and can be found at the end of the book.

The Vatican Billions
Jesus, the founder of true Christianity, was the poorest of the poor. Roman Catholicism, which claims to be His church, is the richest of the rich, the wealthiest institution on earth. How come, that such an institution, ruling in the name of this same itinerant preacher, whose want was such that he had not even a pillow upon which to rest his head, is now so top-heavy with riches that she can rival - indeed, that she can put to shame - the combined might of the most redoubtable financial trusts, of the most potent industrial super-giants, and of the most prosperous global corporation of the world? It is a question that has echoed along the somber corridors of history during almost 2,000 years; a question that has puzzled, bewildered and angered in turn untold multitudes from the first centuries to our days.

Vietnam - Why Did We Go?
The shocking Story of the Catholic "Church's" Role in Starting the Vietnam War
Vietnam! America shudders at the word. To avoid another Vietnam, we must understand why we went there in the first place. Avro Manhattan, famous for his careful attention to historical detail, documents the religious struggle which began this tragedy.
He shows how the Roman Catholic Church pressured the U.S. to set up and support a Catholic dictatorship under Diem. Manhattan shows how Catholic President Kennedy became the unwilling pawn in the Vatican’s plan to develop South Vietnam as a beachhead for the expansion of Catholicism throughout Asia. When America began to pull back support from Diem's Catholic regime, both presidents died, three weeks apart, by assassins’ bullets.
The failure of this American-Vatican alliance, and the disgrace that followed, dispels any belief one may have in the Roman Catholic Institution as a "moral influence."
This is the story of a religious war gone out of control. It provides a sober warning for a generation to follow.

Having covered various political topics throughout his career, Avro Manhattan is perhaps best remembered as the author of several works analyzing the Vatican's role in global affairs.
Manhattan is a world-renowned authority on Roman Catholicism in politics. During World War II, Manhattan was jailed in Italy for refusing to serve in Benito Mussolini's fascist army. Later during World War II he operated a radio station called "Radio Freedom," broadcasting to occupied Europe. He also wrote political commentaries for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Besides lecturing and writing short stories, essays, articles, novels and plays, he has written several best-sellers.
Despite having an intellectual outlook somewhat at odds with Christian fundamentalism, many of Manhattan's books were sold by Jack Chick, an American fundamentalist publisher.
