Alex Grey - DVD Collection

A collection I put together of all the DVDs Alex Grey has put out.

In my opinion the most enlightening and powerful video in this pack is "World Spirit" I will admit that at certain points it brought me to tears many times I have watched it, just because of the message and how it is presented with such amazing inspiring artwork.
The other two DVDs (CoSM the Movie and ARTmind THE HEALING POWER OF SACRED ART) are more of a documentary with Grey describing his life, work, and inspirations for his art.

**NOTE** In the World Spirit folder there are 2 different versions of the event, one is the Live performance and the other is the Art performance, which is much more powerful IMO. Unfortunately all the copies I found online had horrible audio for the Art performance. However, I was able to extract the audio and clean it up quite a bit, so if you already have this particular DVD and downloaded it from another source I suggest getting this one due to the much better audio clarity.

Alex Grey Bio:

Alex Grey is a visionary artist, art instructor, and author. His paintings, sculpture, and performances are based on his lifelong interest in the themes of death and transcendence. He studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio and the Boston Museum School. During this period he had a series of drug-induced mystical experiences that transformed his agnostic existentialism to a radical transcendentalism.

Grey spent five years at Harvard Medical School working in the anatomy department, studying the body and preparing cadavers for dissection. He also worked at Harvard's department of mind/body medicine with Dr. Herbert Benson and Dr. Joan Borysenko, conducting scientific experiments to investigate subtle healing energies.

Grey exhibits his work worldwide and is often a speaker at international conferences. A mid-career retrospective of Grey's work was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art of San Diego in 1999. The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in New York City, a long-term exhibition of fifty works of Grey’s transformative art, opened in 2004. Among his publications are the monograph Sacred Mirrors: The Visionary Art of Alex Grey, which has been translated into five languages, and The Mission of Art, and Transfigurations.

**NOTE** The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors has since closed and been moved upstate to Wappingers Falls, New York (Ironically the same town I grew up in.) More info on the new location can be found here:
