I don't think anyone is buying it up to prevent circulation. I see crazy prices on Amazon all the time, for things like USB cables and vitamins and all manner of items. Maybe it's price fishing by 3rd parties.
I do wonder about the crazy Amazon bot algorithm for books when the available quantity dips. Are there enough people willing to pay insane prices to justify the bots? Rhetorical question I suppose, it must contribute to the bottom line or it wouldn't be there.
