first time here or anywhere registering for torrents and I don't have a clue. I tried to download 17970.torrent - Transmutation - Energy from the Vacuum series ~ 500MiB. All I get is a 49 kilobyte file that Windoze XP has no clue what to do with. Please point me to a tutorial?

You need to install a bittorrent client for Windows. Once installed, the client will automatically handle the file for you.
