"US Take Over Bagram
As of April 11, 2025, there are conflicting reports regarding the control of Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan. Some reports claim that the Taliban has handed over the base to the United States, with a U.S. C-17 aircraft reportedly landing at Bagram and bringing military vehicles, equipment, and senior intelligence officials, including the Deputy Chief of the CIA.
However, the Taliban has categorically denied these claims, stating that the base remains under their control and that there is no foreign military presence in Afghanistan.
Additional Details:
Reports of U.S. Takeover:
A U.S. C-17 aircraft reportedly landed at Bagram Airbase, bringing military vehicles, equipment, and senior intelligence officials, including the Deputy Chief of the CIA.
These developments suggest active intelligence interests in Afghanistan and a potential rebuilding of U.S. intelligence networks in the region.
Taliban Denial:
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, dismissed the reports as "propaganda" and emphasized that the Taliban would not permit any foreign military presence in Afghanistan.
The Taliban maintains that Bagram is under their control and that there is no need for any foreign military presence.
Strategic Significance:
Bagram Airbase is a critical asset for intelligence gathering and military strategy due to its proximity to China’s key military sites and its historical importance as the largest U.S. military hub in Afghanistan.
The base has two runways and over 100 parking spots for fighter jets, making it a significant logistical and operational base.
Context and Background:
The U.S. completed its withdrawal from Bagram in July 2021, officially handing the base over to the Afghan government, which was then quickly taken over by the Taliban.
The decision to abandon Bagram has been criticized for leaving a strategic vacuum that the Taliban filled, and for the large amount of military equipment left behind.
Given the conflicting reports, the situation remains unclear and is currently developing."
It would be very handy to bomb the fuck out of Iran and be out of range of it's missiles like Diego Garcia.
I imagine the Taliban were simply told..... we are having that airport or you get what the Houthis are getting.
apart from not getting the fuckery bombed out them... does it also play to the increasing tensions between Iran and the Taliban? (combined with we'll bomb you further back into the stone age)
also handy for bombing/spying on the Chinese nuke sites in Xinjiang North West China and Trump might make bombing ISIS K (Khorasan province)or whatever they are called who are challenging the Taliban and maybe they reckon Pakistan might be a bit more reticent about shooting in the direction of Afghanistan in the yanks are at Bagram???
is this good though?
to be honest, i am not sure. it will cripple irans nuke program for sure and itr's ability to support out of country proxies but as to it's ripples.. who knows bud.
