Harold Shipman is one of the world's most prolific serial killers. A trusted family doctor, he abused his position of trust and secretly poisoned over 250 of his patients. This documentary features exclusive new testimony from eyewitnesses and police officers revealing how Shipman groomed a community and preyed on the most vulnerable. Speaking for the very first time, detectives at the heart of Britain's biggest-ever murder enquiry also reveal the tactics they used to bring the man they called 'Doctor Death' to justice and the mistakes he made that led to his eventual downfall.

Shipman's killing spree began in the 1970's and went undetected over three decades. There was a very different attitude to the medical profession back then; few ever questioned their doctor. As the list of victims grew by the day, detectives reveal the widespread resistance they faced as people found it hard to accept that their respected GP could be a murderer.

This fucker caused a lot of us in errrm... a certain sector a HUGE degree of problems after he got busted... mostly due to the fact English GPs [Drs] suddenly shit themselves when you asked for opioid scripts in the mid 1990s onwards...

I could do a 3 hour documentary on the fallout of Shipman ASIDE from the poor old pensioner birds he killed - his use of opiates to kill them had ramifications for a LOT MORE ppl of younger years...
