Netflix rip
This is a 1080p Netflix rip that has a bunch of subtitle files built into the mkv. I shrunk the video down to 1.47gb, but didn't realize the portions of video interview with non-English speaking natives did not have hard-coded subs onto the video. These were "forced" subs ripped from Netflix and I am not sure how to rip those.

Now as far as I understand you were doing a rip of the file that you have uploaded which is AJP69's rip. You encoded the video and you probably set the audio to pass through. However the subtitles from the source file (including the forced for non-english parts) didnt mux through.
If I have understood your problem correctly, your solution is very simple. Open MKVtoolNIX and add you encoded file into the window, then add the AJP69 into the window as a separate file. you will see the streams of audio, video and subs of both files. Simply deselect the streams you dont need and mux yourself a new file with the streams you want. Make sure you set the flags (default stream and forced) where necessary (like for the non-english subs).

That worked surprisingly well and quite easily. Thanks! I have had that program for a while, I just didn't really know what to do with it. But now that I know, I think I will be using it a lot more in the future.

you can also use gMKVextractGUI to extract things out of the MKV. It will generate .mp4, .aac, .srt files out of the streams. You can add the .srt-s as separate files in a folder with your rip. But when you have streams that are "forced foreign parts only" it is better to have them in the mkv because if they are external your player might not play them automatically and you will be interrupted in the middle of the movie to switch them on. When you set them in the mkv as default and forced they will show up automatically.
