As downloaded, the .flv proved impossible to convert satisfactorily until I found the Brothersoft FormatFactory Video Converter. Windows only, but works in Linux with Wine. HIGHLY recommended if you come across a problem converting FLVs your 'normal' way. It's freeware too!
