I covered the parts 20 + 21 in the old forum, which are filled with the false arguments of Shoah deniers. Two chapters full of lies does not shed a positive light on the whole thing.

Part 20 Confessions by torture

See my past refutation of the Höß-was-tortured argument:

- one of the sources for Höß's beating are the memoirs of Höß ('Kommandant in Auschwitz') which he wrote while in Polish captivity. Here he actually says that during his first interrogation he was beaten and that he does not remember what was in the protocol that he signed – alcohol and whip were too much for him. Nowhere does he explicitly say that he was spoon-fed a certain version, it might as well just mean that he was beaten to talk, but could not remember his own words afterwards. So this is not hard evidence for the "tortured-to-testify" myth. Another problem for the "revisionists" arises from the fact that the same source confirms the factuality of the Shoah. If people accept this source as evidence they will have to accept Höß's statements about the Shoah as well. If they argue then that the memoirs of Höß were written while being tortured by the Polish they will have a hard time to explain why he was even allowed to write about his beating by the British.

- the second source is a non-scientific work (Rupert Butler: 'Legions of death') and which is actually hear-say; as we all know no "revisionist" would ever accept such kind of evidence. Secondly this source says that the British weren't able to stop Höß talking once he started to do so, so this clearly speaks against any spoon-fed testimony. Thirdly this work confirms the factuality of the Shoah as well (p. 170 talking about Sobibor as a "factory of death" which had already killed more than 600.000 Jews), so if revisionists accept this work as a proper historical source, they will have to accept this statement as well.

- the testimonies by Höß, which were produced in three different places and under totally different circumstances, are all quite consistent. His testimony is confirmed by other testimonies, among them those of other Nazis.

Fact is: no Nazi ever came forward and claimed he was forced under torture to make certain statements. Let's add to my former criticism of the "hoax" myth: no Nazi ever stepped forward and protested. We are not just talking about Nuremberg, we are talking about several court trials that lasted as long as into the mid 60ies. No Nazi ever complained that there wasn't such a thing as the Shoah. All they ever said was that they were just following orders, that they couldn't remember or they admitted their deeds. Some weren't even accused but testified as witnesses (that goes for Höß in Nuremberg as well). And the "revisionists" claim or suggest they have ALL been tortured, and not a single one fell out of line, even when they lived on.

So to conclude here: no hard evidence for the "tortured-to-testify" myth. Further showing how absurd the "hoax" myth really is.

Then follows the obligatory concentration on minor details of the Shoah like the soap rumor, blowing it up and by video composition (putting it next to the staged [why not use some original footage instead?] Nuremberg movie) suggesting that this was the only evidence „trying” to document the mass extermination while deliberately and completely ignoring all the numerous pieces of evidence(*) existing. Nice work of propaganda.

Next it contains the usual denier fallacy of arguing: „if the conditions in one concentration camp weren’t as bad, they couldn’t have been bad in any of them”. And then portrays testimonies of victims as „contradicting”. No, they are not actually „contradicting” as different kinds of concentration camps existed, some with completely different areas with different functions like in Auschwitz and different classes of prisoners.

A testimony from Theresienstadt is shown. Theresienstadt was not your typical death camp like those in Poland. It was mainly a transit camp before people were sent to the known death camps and additionally it was a model camp built by the Nazis to fool the public:

Late in the war, after D-Day and the Invasion of Normandy, the Nazis permitted representatives from the Danish Red Cross and the International Red Cross to visit Theresienstadt in order to dispel rumors about the extermination camps. […] Weeks of preparation preceded the visit. The area was cleaned up, and the Nazis deported many Jews to Auschwitz to minimize the appearance of overcrowding in Theresienstadt. Also deported in these actions were most of the Czechoslovak workers assigned to "Operation Embellishment". The Nazis directed the building of fake shops and cafés to imply that the Jews lived in relative comfort.

This "documentary" even goes so far as showing excerpts from the original Nazi propaganda film about Theresienstadt depicting it as a cosy little camp where life is wonderful for the Jews and using this a "proof" that life in concentration camps was not so bad at all (title of the Nazi propaganda piece: "Theresienstadt – Ein Dokumentarfilm aus dem jüdischen Siedlungsgebiet" [1944]). The usual denier technique: trying to sow doubt while leaving related key information out of the picture. And in this case: capitalizing on old Nazi propaganda to create new Nazi propaganda.

All in all: this short sneak preview was enough for me to conclude that this is just rehashed old material with the intention to deceive and to push a certain right-wing ideological agenda, in which Hitler and Nazism is supposed to be rehabilitated.
