Transcendent Man and Singularity Ray Kurzweil study pack Raymond "Ray" Kurzweil (/ˈkɜrzwaɪl/ KURZ-wyl; born February 12, 1948) is an American author, computer scientist, inventor, futurist, and is a director of engineering at Google. Aside from futurology, he is involved in fields such as optical character recognition (OCR), text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition technology, and electronic keyboard instruments. He has written books on health, artificial intelligence (AI), transhumanism, the technological singularity, and futurism. Kurzweil is a public advocate for the futurist and transhumanist movements, as has been displayed in his vast collection of public talks, wherein he has shared his primarily optimistic outlooks on life extension technologies and the future of nanotechnology, robotics, and biotechnology. Kurzweil was the principal inventor of the first CCD flatbed scanner, the first omni-font optical character recognition, the first print-to-speech reading machine for the blind, the first commercial text-to-speech synthesizer, the Kurzweil K250 music synthesizer capable of simulating the sound of the grand piano and other orchestral instruments, and the first commercially marketed large-vocabulary speech recognition. Transcendent Man Transcendent Man chronicles the life and ideas of Ray Kurzweil, an inventor and futurist that presents his bold vision of the Singularity, a point in the near future when technology will be changing so rapidly, that we will have to enhance ourselves with artificial intelligence to keep up. Ray predicts this will be the dawning of a new civilization in which we will no longer be dependent on our physical bodies, we will be trillions of times more intelligent and there will be no clear distinction between human and machine, real reality and virtual reality. Human ageing and illness will be reversed; world hunger and poverty will be solved and we will ultimately cure death. Critics accuse Ray of being too optimistic and argue that the dangers of the Singularity far outweigh the benefits, pointing out the apocalyptic implications that once machines achieve consciousness, we may not be able to control them. Whether Rays controversial ideas incite excitement or fear, dogma or disbelief this ... Technology will accelerate exponentially. Within 25 years, computers will have consciousness. Humans will soon be bionic. These predictions make bestselling author Ray Kurzweil (The Singularity Is Near) a prophetic genius to some, and a highly sophisticated crackpot to others. There is no question, however, that he has predicted the future with more accuracy than anyone else in history. Transcendent Man gets inside the mind of the award-winning scientist and A.I. specialist through extensive interviews with Kurzweil himself and revealing conversations with friends and colleagues. The film outlines Kurzweil s theory of singularity the point when change occurs so rapidly that humans will need to merge with technology to keep up while also chronicling Kurzweil s history, his myriad accomplishments (including 24 U.S. patents), and his unique vision of the future. The Singularity Is Near For over three decades, the great inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil has been one of the most respected and provocative advocates of the role of technology in our future. In his classic The Age of Spiritual Machines, he argued that computers would soon rival the full range of human intelligence at its best. Now he examines the next step in this inexorable evolutionary process: the union of human and machine, in which the knowledge and skills embedded in our brains will be combined with the vastly greater capacity, speed, and knowledge-sharing ability of our creations. That merging is the essence of the Singularity, an era in which our intelligence will become increasingly nonbiological and trillions of times more powerful than it is today - the dawning of a new civilization that will enable us to transcend our biological limitations and amplify our creativity. In this new world, there will be no clear distinction between human and machine, real reality and virtual reality. While the social and philosophical ramifications of these changes will be profound, and the threats they pose considerable, The Singularity Is Near maintains a radically optimistic view of the future course of human development. As such, it offers a view of the coming age that is both a dramatic culmination of centuries of technological ingenuity and a genuinely inspiring vision of our ultimate destiny. comment: What's the singularity all about? It's about the kingdom of the antichrist. You see, there are two types of singularities: The Luciferian one world order singularity, and then the GOD-mind hyperspace singularity, and the two may not go together well. It's just like those perfect car factories operating without any people, it's perfect but there's no room for you in it. This planet is meant to be an opportunity for souls to incarnate to, where they may evolve and learn, but a perfect machine world won't even need any souls, basically it will be a dead world. What happened to the souls of monkeys when they were replaced by humans during the evolution? This planet was lost to them. The Luciferian singularity will lead to mass genocide, and the AI just won't care. But your soul may get integrated into the global AI, you say. Forget it, it's just wishful thinking. The global AI will be a virtual Hitler. But will the AI respect the integrity of our identity? Why should it? Even our governments today have zero respect for our personal integrity, our privacy and our sovereign identity. Future AI will be as nutty as our leaders are. The core issue here is collectivism versus personal self-actualization, not technology as such. Why should an AI have any respect for our quest for transcendence and spiritual enlightenment? files: audio-book Ray Kurzweil - The Singularity Is Near ebooks How to Create a Mind - Ray Kurzweil, 2012.pdf The Age of Spiritual Machines - Ray Kurzweil, 1999.pdf The Singularity Is Near - Ray Kurzweil, 2005.pdf text Ray Kurzweil, wikipedia.pdf Time Magazine, Kurzweil on Singularity, 2011.pdf videos Bullemhead - The Singularity 251.mov Kurzweil Interviews Minsky - Is Singularity Near.mp4 Ray Kurzweil at Singularity Summit 12, How to Create a Mind.mp4 Ray Kurzweil, How to Create a Mind, Authors at Google.mp4 Ray Kurzweil, Keynote, Singularity, University Executive Program.m4v Raymond Kurzweil Interview.mp4 singularity summit - Ray Kurzweil on the Singularity.mp4 TechnoCalyps Part I TransHuman.mp4 TechnoCalyps Part II Preparing for the Singularity.mp4 TechnoCalyps Part III The Digital Messiah.mp4 The Singularity Is Near (2012) Ray Kurzweil.mp4 Transcendent Man (2009) Ray Kurzweil.mp4 tags: AI, future, prophecy, singularity, transhumanism, computers, evolution, immortality

Meher Baba - Avatar of the Age ebooks collection Born on 25 February 1894, Meher Baba attained God-realization at the age of 19. He embarked on his mission as a Spiritual Master in the early 1920s. On 10 July 1925 he began his silence and did not speak again for the remainder of his physical lifetime. The decades that followed witnessed the establishment of centers at Meherabad and Meherazad (near Ahmednagar, India) and other places. He worked intensively with the poor, lepers, and with spiritually advanced souls known as masts. Meher Baba held many mass darshan programs. Toward the end of his life he remained in seclusion, for the most part, to complete his Universal Work. In 1954 Meher Baba declared that he is Avatar of the age. He dropped his physical form on 31 January 1969. "I have come not to teach but to awaken. Understand therefore that I lay down no precepts. Throughout eternity I have laid down principles and precepts, but mankind has ignored them. Man's inability to live God's words makes the Avatar's teaching a mockery. Instead of practicing the compassion He taught, man has waged crusades in His name. Instead of living the humility, purity and truth of his words, man has given way to hatred, greed and violence. Because man has been deaf to the principles and precepts laid down by God in the past, in this present Avataric form I observe Silence. You have asked for and been given enough words - it is now time to live them. To get nearer and nearer to God you have to get further and further away from "I", "my", "me", and "mine". You have not to renounce anything but your own self. It is as simple as that, though found to be almost impossible. It is possible for you to renounce your limited self by my Grace. I have come to release that Grace. I repeat, I lay down no precepts. When I release the tide of Truth which I have come to give, men's daily lives will be the living precept. The words I have not spoken will come to life in them. I veil myself from man by his own curtain of ignorance, and manifest my Glory to a few. My present Avataric Form is the last Incarnation of this cycle of time, hence my Manifestation will be the greatest. When I break my Silence, the impact of my Love will be universal and all life in creation will know, feel and receive of it. It will help every individual to break himself free from his own bondage in his own way. I am the Divine Beloved who loves you more than you can ever love yourself. The breaking of my Silence will help you to help yourself in knowing your real Self. All this world confusion and chaos was inevitable and no one is to blame. What had to happen has happened; and what has to happen will happen. There was and is no way out except through my coming in your midst. I had to come, and I have come. I am the Ancient One." tags: enlightenment, illumination, avatar, God, philosophy, spirituality, meditation, soul, spirit, immortality
