The 2018 fire season produced devastating wildfires across the world — in Greece, Canada, and in Sweden reaching north of the Arctic Circle. Fires ravaged the western part of North America, including the Camp Fire, the deadliest wildfire in California history. Inside the Megafire tells the stories of residents who had to flee for their lives, and reveals how and why the fire spread so rapidly.

The film also follows scientists and researchers as they race to understand what’s behind the record-breaking megafires. They brave the flames to conduct tests inside a forest fire, and investigate how fire behaves in a special lab.
