I was listening to McKenna lately and I like the guy, love his ability to speak and write and I'm fascinated with his ideas, but something suspicious and fishy is about him, which I can't describe. I can smell newage all around him, then there is his hype about 2012, his fascination with occult and connections with many NWO "green" foundations. He is also promoting the idea of technology and human mind upload. Then if you are careful you can see a lot of influence from theosophy in his ideas.

Anyone did any research on him? Was he a NWO agent, working in the newage-religion field?
I like him, but with all his newage ideas I wouldn't be surprised if he was working for NWO.
One day Chuang Tzu and a friend were walking by a river. &Look at the fish
swimming about,& said Chuang Tzu, &They are really enjoying themselves.&

&You are not a fish,& replied the friend, &So you can't truly know that they
are enjoying themselves.&

&You are not me,& said Chuang Tzu. &So how do you know that I do not
know that the fish are enjoying themselves?&

I would have voted for "mostly right", because I don't think anybody is always right or always wrong.

If he buys the 2012 nonsense, that's a shame. A lot of people are going to have egg on their face when 2012 rolls around without incident. Some of them will just wipe off the egg, pick another date, and march on...

A huge percentage of the 2000/2001 doom merchants are still around, praying on people who want to believe they are part of something bigger than their meager lives.

After watching Timothy Leary do his thing, and admitting he was on the payroll of the CIA, anything's possible.

A good book on the infiltration of the New Age movement by spooks is The Stargate Conspiracy

I don't know, that's why I ask. I'm suspicious, but I like the guy.

The interesting thing about his theory about 2012 is that it has no connection to maya calendar, he didn't know about it when he was doing it. It's called timewave zero and has a very strong mathematical backup, yet the roots are rather well... Cloudy. He based all his theory on IChing and got a date of 21. 12. 2012.
It's also known as novelty theory, it says that the complexity of universe is exponent function of time and the peak of complexity will be in 2012. He doesn't predict doomsday or anything, he just says something big will happen.

He openly said that most of conspiracy theories are wrong on one occasion, he said there is noone in control in our world, and it's like a wild mustang riding towards timewave zero which noone can control anymore, not even the elites.
He is against all religion and well known for his psychedelic propaganda.

Check out a short insert of his speech:

He's an updated Leary, nothing more, maybe a bit more eloquent.
