I read the back of an Adventures Unlimited book that claimed water could act as a memory-transferring tape as well, anything?

Yes it appears that this technology is finally going mainstream. It'll be interesting to see what the trillion dollar oil business will do to counteract this trend. If they don't, the world will be a much different place soon...

Two things

1) fresh water? 15 years left of it so not much there for fuel potential.

2) Technology transfer? Yes there's these "secret" "free" technologies going "mainstream" -- but technology won't save us. Ecology means everything is so interconnected and fragile that you just don't fuck with nature and limit humans to what hunting and gathering allows. That sounds elitism or backwards -- but hey! It's ecology -- species climax and then crash and we're no different. So try all you want but the empire WILL implode. That's the true meaning of technological blowback -- or externalities... etc.

1) The article says freshwater, rainwater, seawater. Whatever.

2) Anything that lessens the monopoly is helpful. THe empire has to implode, but that doesn't mean that civilization has to.

1) There's more than 15 years left of "fresh" drinkable water: vapor compression water distiller. (video)

2) Water is everywhere.

3) As you say, species climax and then crash: the myth of the phoenix rising from its ashes still remains.

Technology is the future whether it's for the benefit of humanity or not.
