A new model of the way the THz waves interact with DNA explains how the damage is done and why evidence has been so hard to gather.

Great things are expected of terahertz waves, the radiation that fills the slot in the electromagnetic spectrum between microwaves and the infrared. Terahertz waves pass through non-conducting materials such as clothes , paper, wood and brick and so cameras sensitive to them can peer inside envelopes, into living rooms and "frisk" people at distance.

The way terahertz waves are absorbed and emitted can also be used to determine the chemical composition of a material. And even though they don't travel far inside the body, there is great hope that the waves can be used to spot tumours near the surface of the skin.

With all that potential, it's no wonder that research on terahertz waves has exploded in the last ten years or so.

But what of the health effects of terahertz waves? At first glance, it's easy to dismiss any notion that they can be damaging. Terahertz photons are not energetic enough to break chemical bonds or ionise atoms or molecules, the chief reasons why higher energy photons such as x-rays and UV rays are so bad for us. But could there be another mechanism at work?

The evidence that terahertz radiation damages biological systems is mixed. "Some studies reported significant genetic damage while others, although similar, showed none," say Boian Alexandrov at the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico and a few buddies. Now these guys think they know why.

Alexandrov and co have created a model to investigate how THz fields interact with double-stranded DNA and what they've found is remarkable. They say that although the forces generated are tiny, resonant effects allow THz waves to unzip double-stranded DNA, creating bubbles in the double strand that could significantly interfere with processes such as gene expression and DNA replication. That's a jaw dropping conclusion.

And it also explains why the evidence has been so hard to garner. Ordinary resonant effects are not powerful enough to do do this kind of damage but nonlinear resonances can. These nonlinear instabilities are much less likely to form which explains why the character of THz genotoxic
effects are probabilistic rather than deterministic, say the team.

This should set the cat among the pigeons. Of course, terahertz waves are a natural part of environment, just like visible and infrared light. But a new generation of cameras are set to appear that not only record terahertz waves but also bombard us with them. And if our exposure is set to increase, the question that urgently needs answering is what level of terahertz exposure is safe.

Ref: DNA Breathing Dynamics in the Presence of a Terahertz Field

Terahertz imaging and spectroscopy equipment is exploding into the marketplace. It is the latest breakthrough in the field of photonics. This could potentially cause a health crisis if the preliminary research is validated. We should be vigilant against it's implementation before further review. It's applications include weather imaging, security, pharmaceutical development, military use and medical imaging. There are currently no laws protecting the public from the potential harmful effects of unzipping DNA strands. Just because we can do something does not mean that we should.

Quote:Airport Travelers To Get Ionizing X-Ray Radiation
Security To Die For How Americans Will Be Nuked To Naked
By Amy Worthington
The Idaho Observer

According to a recent Zogby poll, traveling Americans approve long lines and gridlock at airport passenger screening points. The majority polled appreciate delays and hassles of flying today's suspicious skies and feel safer because the federal Transportation Security Agency (TSA) is in charge of airport screening.1 These happy line campers should be delighted to learn about TSA's grossly invasive new security plans. The good times have just begun.

TSA Security Laboratory Director Susan Hallowell recently announced the agency's intent to use back-scatter X-ray machines for passenger surveillance. These hugely expensive, closet-sized zappers can find the plastic bombs hidden in grandma's underpants, while delivering a smacking dose of ionizing radiation to her breasts and thyroid gland.

Snooper X-rays penetrate a few centimeters into the flesh and reflect off the skin to form a naked body image for TSA security personnel to inspect. These machines are already being field tested at several U.S. airports, including JFK, LAX and Orlando.2

The most lucrative growth industry of our times is the "terror" business. Legions of companies lusting for government contracts are churning out police state technology at a frantic pace. In the last 17 months, TSA has received over 30,000 proposals for Big Brother technology and equipment needed to keep 280 million citizen-suspects under careful surveillance from the inside out.3

Big winners include companies whose equipment is assisting TSA's Advanced Technology Checkpoint Project to nudify airline passengers.4 Digital Security Systems of Miami is promoting its ConPass Security Body Scanner, which can perform virtual cavity searches using deeply penetrating X-radiation. Company engineer Thomas Wiggins says the scanner can detect explosives hidden inside bodies or surgically implanted under flabby folds of skin. Wiggins admits that before 9-11, "The thought of using an X-ray system would have been like ordering our own death sentence." Now Wiggins claims that the ConPass scanner "could scan a pregnant woman around 200 times without a health risk."5

Virtually all passengers and airline crews who pass through airport screening checkpoints in the U.S. may soon be forced to submit to compulsory, whole-body X-ray exposure. Some fliers could be "fried" several times in one day. Frequent fliers could get hit hundreds of times each year. Pregnant women, infants, the chronically ill and immune suppressed would get the rays. Grateful herds of traveling livestock, prodded by TSA drovers through federally-funded "nuke chutes," are expected to believe Hollowell's scientifically unsupported assertion that ionizing radiation delivered via backscatter will be "about the same as sunshine."6

Officials must naturally defend compulsory passenger X-rays as harmless. But they are signing no guarantees because ionizing radiation in the X-ray spectrum damages and mutates both chromosomal DNA and structural proteins in human cells.7 If this damage is not repaired, it can lead to cancer.8 New research shows that even very low doses of X-ray can delay or prevent cellular repair of damaged DNA, raising questions about the safety of routine medical X-rays.9 Unborn babies can become grotesquely disfigured if their mothers are irradiated during pregnancy.10 Heavily X- rayed persons of childbearing age can sustain chromosomal damage, endangering offspring.11 Radiation damage is cumulative and each successive dose builds upon the cellular mutation caused by the last.12 It can take years for radiation damage to manifest pathology.

A leading U.S. expert on the biological effects of X-radiation is Dr. John Gofman, Professor Emeritus of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Gofman's exhaustive research leads him to conclude that there is NO SAFE DOSE-LEVEL of ionizing radiation.13 His studies indicate that radiation from medical diagnostics and treatment is a causal co-factor in 50 percent of America's cancers and 60 percent of our ischemic (blood flow blockage) heart disease.14 He stresses that the frequency with which Americans are medically X-rayed "makes for a significant radiological impact."15

This highly credentialed nuclear physicist states: "The fact, that X-ray doses are so seldom measured, reflects the false assumption that doses do not matter...[but] they do matter enormously. And each bit of additional dose matters, because any X-ray photon may be the one which sets in motion the high-speed, high energy electron which causes a carcinogenic or atherogenic [smooth muscle] mutation. Such mutations rarely disappear. The higher their accumulated number in a population, the higher will be the population's mortality rates from radiation-induced cancer and ischemic heart disease."16

A report in the British medical journal Lancet noted that after breast mammograms were introduced in 1983, the incidence of ductal carcinoma (12 percent of breast cancer) increased by 328 percent, of which 200 percent was due to the use of mammography itself.17 A Lawrence Berkeley National Lab study has demonstrated that breast tissue is extremely susceptible to radiation-induced cancer,18 confirming warnings by numerous experts that mammograms can initiate the very cancers they may later identify.19 Dr. Gofman believes that medical radiation is a co-factor in 75 percent of breast cancer cases.20 So why would girls and women want their breast tissues irradiated every time they take a commercial flight?

Cancer is number two cause of death in the U.S. behind heart disease. The more marathon walks and cookie eating contests we sponsor to fund the "war" on cancer, the more cancer we get. "America isn't winning the war on cancer after all," the Wall Street Journal recently reported.21 The National Cancer Institute admits that America's cancer rates in almost every category are rising steadily.22 Airline pilots and cabin crews suffer a significant incidence of leukemia, skin and breast cancer due to chromosomal damage from ionizing cosmic radiation encountered during years of flying at high altitudes.23

Dr. Gofman's research reveals a dose-response relationship between medical X-rays and fatal heart disease, the number one killer of Americans. He found that X-radiation is a powerful atherogen, causing mutations in smooth muscle cells of coronary arteries. These radiation damaged cells are unable to process lipoproteins correctly, resulting in atherosclerotic plaques and mini tumors in the arteries.24 Radiation used to treat breast cancer can badly damage the heart.25

As Dr. Gofman and other experts argue for improved diagnostic techniques and equipment to reduce medically necessary X-ray exposure, TSA gears up to impose frivolous, nonmusical exposure, even though conventional airline security measures have proven adequate since 9/11. To date, the National Institutes of Health, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association have been silent about TSA's sinister plan to deliver unlimited doses of carcinogenic, mutagenic, heart damaging radiation to the flying public. No health studies are planned to gauge short and long-term effects of the radiation TSA will deliver to inspect our innards.

Big Brother's zap madness is a predictable result of America's post 9-11 security hysteria. But here's the irony: Dr. Gofman says X- radiation has the effect of "grenades and small bombs" on human cells.26 If we permit TSA to continually "bomb" our DNA in the name of security, what have we accomplished?

Besides ionizing beams, the feds are also testing other types of surveillance radiation. A flubbed holographic scanner developed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory allows officials to strip search humans with ultra-high frequency radio waves.27 Millivision of Amherst, Mass., has engineered a millimeter wave scanner using radio frequencies 1,000 times higher than those of an FM broadcast.28 These waves pass through clothing, packaging and building materials. Ultra-high radio frequencies include radar, a spectrum of radiation known since WWII to cause cancer and neurological disability in humans.29 Microwave frequencies are documented by recent studies on cell/cordless phone radiation to be carcinogenic and teratogenic (causing abnormal embryonic development).30

An example of unexpected health repercussions caused by high frequency radiation used on humans is fetal ultrasound technology. Ultrasound equipment bombards a fetus for up to one hour with megahertz radiation. This radiation, which cycles millions of time per second, can cause mutation and bleeding in the intestinal cells of rodents.31 Swedish scientists say routine ultrasound scanning of pregnant women may be causing subtle brain damage in unborn babies.32 Approximately half of all pregnancies in the U.S. result in prenatal or postnatal death, or an otherwise less than healthy baby.33 Many wonder if routine exposure of America's fragile unborn to megahertz radiation might be a factor, among others, of this shocking national statistic. Is fetal ultrasound exposure playing some part in the national epidemic of delayed development in infants, plus learning and behavior difficulties suffered by millions of our school children? Exposing the unborn to ionizing X-radiation at airport checkpoints is an even more dangerous game of roulette.

Fedgov's planned use of health damaging radiation on the traveling public seems especially tragic and abusive to those of us convinced that the War on Terror is a giant con job. Massive evidence indicates that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were intentionally staged to justify increased power over and surveillance of Americans.34 Key NORAD and other military officials had to be in on the ruse.35 President Bush ambushed himself when he openly lied about what he knew and when he knew it on the day the Twin Towers went down.36. He has been caught lying about so many issues that Homeland Security should issue a red alert every time he is about to move his lips. The Bush administration's ongoing cover-up of 9/11 is so blatant that even Bush's own investigatory commission has expressed outrage at his efforts to block its requests for vital information and resources.37

Meantime, TSA claims concern that Americans may feel humiliated at being viewed naked by X-ray screeners. But whatever airport nuke-nazis see through our clothing is nothing that the undertaker won't see after excessive, state-mandated radiation puts us "down" for good. Mandatory airport surveillance radiation delivered to an already grossly ill population would afford our financially strapped government an ingenious "final solution" to numerous political and economic problems. No muss, no fuss, this cull in the Cuckoos' nest. Each useless eater lines up for his deferred-lethal dose. The weak will die soonest, the strong will eventually become the weak--no questions asked and nothing proven. It's hard for a Prozac nation to imagine such sinister motives behind the terror industry, but the documented truth is, our amoral leadership has been brazenly murdering Americans for decades.38 Genocide specialists have been especially fond of unleashing various forms of deadly radiation on the unwitting masses, as documented by the federal Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments.39 Now here we go again!

Consumers could derail TSA's sinister surveillance projects in a heartbeat. It's called boycott: We simply refuse to get nuked to naked. If we stop booking flights, the airline industry must grind to a halt. TSA would have little choice but to scrap its plans to endanger the national health with unnecessary radiation.

Americans who are still able to think must launch an effort to save ourselves and warn others. 1. Let's demand that Congress mandate TSA's radiation experiments be strictly voluntary. 2. We must demand the right to request that TSA conduct a non-radiation search of our persons. 3. We must demand our right to abstain from security procedures that may harm our children. 4. We must initiate an e-mail campaign to convince TSA and the airlines that forcible assault by radiation makes the cost of an airline ticket impossibly prohibitive.

Is that in the range of UV radiation.
UV causes DNA damage.
Saw that in an electrical engineering text book*.
The truth is finally being told, somewhere.
UV also causes radioactivity in light elements below
atomic weight 19 such as knocking out alpha particles
that could acquire electrons and become Helium.

Terahertz are a subset of microwave radiation. They are also employing the use of hard X-rays at the airport for intestinal and stomach searches.

Also dug up this recently published paper:

Quote:Terahertz Radiation Effects and Biological Applications
Abstract We present a brief overview of the literature on biological applications and experimental data on the effects of THz radiation. The region of the electromagnetic spectrum from 0.1 to 10 THz is a frontier area for research in physics, chemistry, biology, materials science and medicine. This area has recently begun to be filled by a variety of sources of high quality radiation with a wide range of new technologies related to it. New sources have led to new science in many areas, as scientists begin to become aware of the opportunities for research progress in their fields using THz radiation. Therefore the opportunities for THz science in chemistry and biology are wide ranging. Some of them will extend the range of already established work, many others have not yet been realized but show great promise, and the rest fall somewhere in between.
Full Article + PDF:

Based on the findings from the original paper combined with the whitewash of the health effects it received in the latest study it seems that further study is required to fully understand how THz disrupts DNA through resonance - although it is confirmed that it does under certain conditions. Prolonged exposures[1] and higher seem to exacerbate this effect especially when proteins are bonding and during replication. Lower frequency zaps yield no change on DNA itself initially. IMO they seem much safer than CT scans at first glance but the study was directed by the US Dept. of Energy[2] so I'd proceed on the side of caution until further independent study is conducted.

[1] The paper mention 6 hours but fail to plot any other metrics could have results in 30 seconds they used the term long period of exposure

Groovy Mr. Blow, spread the word. Not to discount it but the discussion is too focused on the 'naked kids' part of it and distracts from the relevant and very real issue that no decent health studies have been performed on this technology (just like cellular & portable phone radiation) and THz wave tech is the next big commercial it is set to show up everywhere.

My hometown airport (Edmonton International) has just ordered 11 of these scanners. I don't fly - but this hits awfully close to home. Deployment is set for 9 international airports in most major cities across Canada.

Full-body scans coming to nine Canadian airports

These are rolling out jackrabbit fast - the first one hit London only a couple of months ago, LAX ended up getting one shortly thereafter. Someone is making a killing off of selling these scanner machines and the cancer industry may be in line for a windfall too in a decade or so.

All of these disruptive waves were non-existent a century ago and the concentration of spectral pollution has increased exponentially since then. Just try to picture the amount of spectral radiation bouncing around AM/FM radio, infrared, shortwave, microwaves, wifi, cell phones, electricity and televisions hypnotic energy not to mention HAARP bouncing beams off of the ionosphere or those solar collector satellites that the US and Japan are working on now to beam microwaves down to Earth.

Could they be affecting our thoughts as well? There is some really wicked deep stuff upped to the tracker on electromagnetics and the brain. Not so much on ionized radiation though -- yet.

Well, it seems to me that they want people to think that it will make flight travel safer. People that are aware know it's going to be a trade off between safeties (health or travel)

Maybe when there's a line of 100 or more people at multiple airports refusing to go through these scanners, things will change.

More of the same information I had reported earlier with a few more tidbits from the Health Ranger after my initial post citing the same sources I did. Nothing new on this front though vigilance seems to have faded away.

It does mention an FDA report that somehow allowed this clearance. The report does not mention the word terahertz systems at all and and analyzes only backscatter and transmission X-Ray systems -- Mike missed the part where it says "Radiation scattered into surrounding areas may be
a concern." (p.22).

The most recent tests in the FDA report were from 2003 and many were from the 90s. So obviously no new testing was required to allow TSA to get these out. I guess these systems have been used in diamond mines for years to prevent workers from pocketing a few rocks. Any health report on this practice, surely there is plenty of data available or maybe they could get an expert to chime in such as Dr. Magda Havas, who seems to be pretty thorough with her research.

FDA Presidential Report on Radiation Protection Advice: Screening of Humans for Security Purposes Using Ionizing Radiation Scanning Systems

Quote:Full-body scanners used on air passengers may damage human DNA
Monday, January 11, 2010
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

(NaturalNews) In researching the biological effects of the millimeter wave scanners used for whole body imaging at airports, NaturalNews has learned that the energy emitted by the machines may damage human DNA.

Millimeter wave machines represent one of two primary technologies currently being used for the "digital strip searches" being conducted at airports around the world. "The Transportation Security Administration utilizes two technologies to capture naked images of air travelers - backscatter x-ray technology and millimeter wave technology," reports the Electronic Privacy Information Center, a non-profit currently suing the U.S. government to stop these electronic strip searches.

In order to generate the nude image of the human body, these machines emit terahertz photons -- high-frequency energy "particles" that can pass through clothing and body tissue.

The manufacturers of such machines claim they are perfectly safe and present no health risks, but a study conducted by Boian S. Alexandrov (and colleagues) at the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico showed that these terahertz waves could "...unzip double-stranded DNA, creating bubbles in the double strand that could significantly interfere with processes such as gene expression and DNA replication."

In layman's terms, any time you're talking about interfering with "gene expression" and "DNA replication," you're essentially talking about something that could be a risk to human health.

Never approved as safe for humans

"At first glance, it's easy to dismiss any notion that they can be damaging," reports "But a new generation of cameras are set to appear that not only record terahertz waves but also bombard us with them. And if our exposure is set to increase, the question that urgently needs answering is what level of terahertz exposure is safe."

And yet no such long-term safety testing has ever been conducted by a third party. There have been no clinical trials indicating that multiple exposures to such terahertz waves, accumulated over a long period of time, are safe for humans. The FDA, in particular, has never granted its approval for any such devices even though these devices clearly qualify as "medical devices."

(If you try to sell an X-ray imaging device yourself, without FDA approval, you'll be arrested. So why do these TSA suppliers get away with selling human body imaging equipment that has never been adequately safety tested or approved by the FDA?)

The study cited in the TechnologyReview article mentioned above is visible at:

There, study authors conclude: "Based on our results we argue that a specific terahertz radiation exposure may significantly affect the natural dynamics of DNA, and thereby influence intricate molecular processes involved in gene expression and DNA replication."

In other words, millimeter wave scanning devices may damage your DNA.

Could these scans cause cancer and birth defects?
Could these scans cause infertility? Cancer? Shortened lifespan? We don't yet know the answers to these questions, but then again neither does the TSA. This technology is being recklessly rolled out without adequate safety testing that would prove it safe for long-term use.

How many times in the past have the "experts" told us technologies were perfectly safe and then later we found out they were dangerous? X-Rays were once used in shoe stores to see if new shoes would fit the bone structure of your feet. High-voltage power lines are perfectly safe, we're told -- but then why do children who live closer to those lines have higher rates of cancer?

Dentists still claim that mercury fillings are perfectly safe for your health -- a preposterous notion -- and cell phone companies continue to insist that cell phone radiation isn't hazardous to your health at all. Time and time again, the public has been lied to by the authorities during the roll-out of some new technology. Why should we believe that full-body scanners are safe when they've never been proven safe? Furthermore, there is now reason to believe they may damage human DNA.

What if the experts are wrong about their safety and ten years later we find out that there is cumulative DNA damage that causes infertility and cancer? What if air travelers who subject themselves to this radiation wind up suffering some currently-unknown health condition as a result? At no time in the history of human civilization have large numbers of humans ever been subjected to terahertz bombardment of this type and frequency.

Sure, you can argue that you get more radiation sitting in an airplane at high altitude than you get from a full-body scanner, or you can explain that cell phones emit far more radiation on the whole (which they do, when you're talking on them anyway). But if there's one thing we all should have learned about radiation by now it's that frequencies matter. The terahertz frequencies have never been rolled out en masse in a scanning technology. Who's to say they're going to be safe?

What about pregnant women? Can the TSA absolutely guarantee that these full-body scanners won't damage the DNA of the unborn babies? What if this technology becomes the next Thalidomide and ten months from now women start giving birth to mutant babies who were damaged by terahertz radiation?

I'm not saying this is going to happen, but wouldn't it be wise to determine the safety of this technology in advance of its global rollout?

As the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements admitted in a 2002 report that studied these security devices:

"[We] cannot exclude the possibility of a fatal cancer attributable to radiation in a very large population of people exposed to very low doses of radiation."

Barring solid evidence of the safety of this terahertz-emitting technology, the TSA would be wise to follow the Precautionary Principle which states that we should err on the side of caution when it comes to the roll out of new technologies. Unfortunately, the TSA appears to be erring on the side of stupidity by subjecting the public to an unproven, "experimental" technology with unknown long-term effects on human DNA.

And here's the real kicker: These full-body scanners do nothing to stop terrorists because they can't detect powder explosives in the first place. A determined terrorist can hide all sorts of powder in a shoe, or a sleeping pillow, or a plastic bag sewn into the side of his carry-on luggage. There are a thousand places for terrorists to hide explosives that won't be caught on full-body scanners, no matter how detailed the images are.

Besides, in order to avoid engaging in child pornography (because these machines offer very detailed depictions of body parts), the rules will allow people under 18 years of age to bypass them. So all you need then, if you're a terrorist, is a 17-year-old terrorist assistant who can pack explosives in his own underwear.

Radiology experts claim full-body scanners are safe
Radiology experts are claiming that the radiation emitted from these full-body scanners is perfectly safe for you. Then again, they also claim mammograms are safe, and recent science has now proven that mammograms cause cancer.

When it comes to radiation safety, you can't trust radiologists. They say all that radiation is safe for YOU, but then they flee the room when the X-rays are turned on, ever notice that? They really have zero credibility when talking about the long-term safety of medical imaging devices. Most doctors, similarly, don't have any real clue how much radiation is emitted by a CT scan!

As BusinessWeek reports:

"The health effects of the more common millimeter-wave scanners are largely unknown, and at least one expert believes a safety study is warranted.

'I am very interested in performing a National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements study on the use of millimeter-wave security screening systems,' said Thomas S. Tenforde, council president."

The New York Times adds:

"Collectively, the radiation doses from the scanners incrementally increase the risk of fatal cancers among the thousands or millions of travelers who will be exposed, some radiation experts believe."

NYT goes on to state that the TSA has entered into a contract under which it could purchase 900 full-body scanners to be deployed in airport all across the country.

Also another article with posted around the same time that talks about a wider spiritual agenda, it was posted on infowars but later removed - and that why it's here:

Quote:Crotch Bomber Kicks Off Massive DNA Destruction

‘The Cartel’s silent, soft-kill weapons of mass DNA destruction are all around us. Metaphysicians tell us that an individual’s DNA composition approximates one’s consciousness, and vice versa: One’s consciousness determines one’s DNA structure. Attack one, you attack the other. Improve one and you improve the other.
~ sakerfa (comment)

Mainstream Doctors Fritz-Albert Popp and Bruce Lipton both tell us that our DNA appears to be the vital link between our physicality and spirituality. Dr. Popp, founder of the International Institute of Biophysics, at Neuss, Germany, and Dr. Lipton, of the University of Wisconsin, both confirm that modern science now realizes and recognizes that our DNA structures directly reflect our consciousness, making it possible for us to willfully activate what science formerly called “junk” DNA, by increasing our individual consciousnesses.

By activating dormant DNA, one would likely be able to perceive life beyond their five physical senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell; and one’s world of spiritual intuition, discernment, judgement, and wisdom begin to develop.

The more we learn about the negative intentions of the dark forces of our world, the more we wake up spiritually, and the more our “junk” DNA activates, if we are not overcome with negativity and fear ourselves. Fear blocks any possible expansion of consciousness, which explains the constant fear-mongering promoted by the International Monetary/Banking Cartel’s corporate media, resulting in the severe stunting of our universal consciousness.

The Cartel’s silent, soft-kill weapons of mass DNA destruction are all around us. Depleting uranium, chemtrails, street and pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines, genetically modified foods, fluorides, aspartames, psychotropics, and now naked body scanners are used against us for a very basic reason: To keep us from waking up to their crimes by damaging our DNAs.

The Cartel’s latest cloaked attack against mankind are their so-called Backscatter X-ray Machines, that expose the naked bodies of children, women and men at busy airport security portals; all based on the flimsy ploy of simply one “crotch bomber” at Christmas time of ‘09 in Detroit. Now suddenly, these Backscatter machines will be showing up at over 125 US airports.

These virtual strip searches, in addition to damaging our DNAs, will be setting the stage for the expansion of our world-wide cancer epidemic. Any amount of radiation is dangerous, as it is cumulative, and poses a serious threat to all living cells through which it passes, leaving behind a trail of destruction and genetic mutations.

The Backscatter doesn’t actually emit X-rays, but little tested T-rays, or THz waves (terahertz waves), which is radiation that is positioned between microwaves and infrared rays on the electromagnetic spectrum. And as would be expected, the Cartel’s scientists and corporate media have ensured that whether or not T-rays severely damage biological systems is to be a controversial subject: this is the usual Cartel stratagem whenever their agenda is on shaky grounds.

Boian Aleandrov, of the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los alamos National Laboratory, however, has a very decided opinion regarding the dangers of T-rays: He tells us that T-rays tear apart human DNA.

Alexandrov, and his team at Los alamos, say that although the forces that T-rays exert are small, their resonant effects can “unzip” DNA strands, tearing them apart, thus creating bubbles in the strands that significantly interfere with gene expression and DNA replication. And whatever that means, it doesn’t sound good.

Moreover, it seems these T-ray scanners will be operated by non-healthcare, hourly wage-earners, not trained in radiation medicine or imaging. And who is to prevent massive radiation overdoses? What protection will be offered to pregnant women, children, or our reproductive organs?

If you are like me, it’s beginning to appear obvious that some power has far more interest in damaging our DNAs, than keeping us safe while flying.

Insightful comment by someone on Facebook.

To which I responded:

Insightful comment Astari. Combine that with the increased US / Mexico fence and other 'terrorist' initiatives, the cameras the tracking systems internet monitoring, cell phone monitoring, the shift to digital money, car registration, worker registration, health registration and the expanding police state and the ever expanding bureaucracy. Not just with people, but with information, resources, products and money as well.

Just a way to keep the livestock (us) tagged and in their quadrant of the human farm or a grand social experiment of sorts. If this is allowed to proceed we will be no better than mice or cattle appeased to with the illusion of freedom and modest creature comforts by way of media programming and pharmaceuticals.

Information  RE: Body Scanners: How Terahertz Waves Tear Apart DNA
EPIC's FOIA request implicates FDA, TSA, DHS and manufaturers in a massive health coverup in airport body scanners.

Quote:Is Anyone Surprised? TSA Misled Public on Dangers of Airport Body Scanners
Public misled on dangers of airport body scanners, watchdog says
Bill Lindner Mon, 04 Jul 2011 21:47 CDT

Internal U.S. government documents show that the Transportation Security Administration, under the guidance of the Department of Homeland Security Secretary, deliberately misled the public on the health risks associated with body-scanning devices.

Documents recently obtained by the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) reportedly revealed that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been caught covering up a growing number of cases of cancer among TSA airport body scanner operators who conduct the screenings in close proximity to the radiation-emitting devices.

Marc Rotenberg, Executive Director of EPIC, told 9News Now "We think that the Department of Homeland Security has not been forthcoming with the public about the true extent of radiation risk with the airport body scanners" after reviewing the documents. EPIC found evidence that the Department of Homeland Security failed to properly evaluate the level of risk from airport body scanners.

Some of the documents indicate that a large number of TSA workers have fallen victim to cancer, strokes and heart disease. TSA workers are concerned that they are being exposed to dangerous levels of radiation while they're conducting the screenings. Union representatives in Boston have cited rising cancer cases (PDF) in the TSA's workforce there and asked the agency to allow its members to wear radiation monitoring devices. To date, the TSA has refused requests for dosimeters.
In response to the safety concerns, the TSA issued the following statement:

"TSA has implemented stringent safety protocols to ensure that technology used at airports to screen people and property is safe for all passengers, as well as the TSA workforce. In addition to regular maintenance, each individual machine that uses X-ray technology is regularly tested to ensure the radiation emitted falls within the national safety standards."

TSA Relied on Tests from Manufacturers

But some scientists are leery of the TSA's science, noting that there is still no supporting data regarding the safety of x-ray airport passenger scanners and the TSA relied on tests performed by the machines' manufacturers, and that important information has been withheld from the public. UC professors suggested a moratorium on using the radiation-emitting devices until conclusive science answers the radiation questions. Secret tests using secret techniques engineered by secret researchers were literally used to deploy devices that invade privacy and are hazardous to your health at public airports.

A Bloomberg Report from February of this year found that passengers should be made aware of the health risks of airport body screenings and governments must explain any decision to expose the public to higher levels of cancer-causing radiation. Bloomberg cited numerous health and governmental agencies that have said that pregnant women and children should not be subject to the devices. Bloomberg noted that Governments must justify the additional risks posed by passengers and should consider other techniques to achieve the same end without using ionizing radiation. A recent letter to President Obama's Science Advisor from several University of CA professors extolled that there is still no rigorous, hard, data for the safety of the body scanning devices, and recommended an immediate moratorium on using the devices until health risks from the radiation could be studied independently.

Despite the growing concerns and cancer cases among TSA airport body scanner operators, the TSA maintains that the machines are safe. Since the questionable implementation of the airport body scanner machines, the TSA has compared radiation received from the body scanner to the radiation from a chest X-ray. Some scientists note that the TSA comparison is "very misleading" since the radiation produced by airport body scanners is much higher than the official estimate. Dr. David Brenner, head of Columbia University's Center for Radiological Research, states that his research revealed that radiation produced by the scanners is twenty times higher than the official estimate. Dr. Brenner's concerns were echoed in February 2010 by the Inter-Agency Committee on Radiation Safety who warned that the devices increase the risk of cancer and birth defects and should not be used on pregnant women or children. Other scientists have voiced concern over what happens if the machine's break down.

Controversy over the TSA's use of the body scanning devices is growing, but long before the lawsuits and public outcry began to pile up, the TSA was caught using the body scanning devices elsewhere. Other documents reveal that the TSA tested similar technology at a commuter train station in New Jersey and signed contracts for more scanning in public places. The documents obtained by EPIC shed more light on the growing controversy and reveal that the TSA officers and the public have, again, been deliberately misled by the TSA and the DHS, which raises a lot more questions than answers, leading some to contend (PDF) that it's time to recalibrate the nation's approach to homeland security.

Docs Indicate DHS Misled the Public on Dangers Posed by Airport Body Scanners

Concern over the use of airport body scanners and the potential health effects to travelers is also rising. Scientists have argued that the concentration of radiation on the skin of individuals being scanned poses a serious cancer risk that has been largely dismissed. Complicating the obvious radiation problems for travelers is the fact that many of the devices can also reveal quite a bit about your health history. In addition to showing everything on the surface of the skin, the scanners see everything under the skin and close to the skin such as piercings, catheters, colostomy bags, breast implants and prosthetic testicles -- items most people want to keep private and out of the prying eyes of public and government officials.

The documents obtained by EPIC's FOIA reportedly concern radiation risks from scanners include agency emails, internal government documents, radiation studies, memoranda of agreement concerning radiation testing programs and the results of some radiation tests. Newly released internal government documents reveal that the TSA, specifically Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), deliberately mislead the public on the dangers posed by airport body scanning devices and falsely mischaracterized safety aspects of the devices. The head of the DHS erroneously cited findings from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) -- which never actually tested the devices -- and the John Hopkins School of Medicine to claim the devices were safe. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also claimed the devices were safe and quickly approved the devices for use on millions of U.S. travelers.

One document (PDF) shows that the NIST did not affirm the safety of those devices. The NIST warned that TSA screeners should avoid standing next to full body scanners to avoid exposure to harmful radiation. Other documents (PDF) show that a John Hopkins study actually revealed radiation zones around full body scanners could exceed the "General Public Dose Limit.” John Hopkins did not affirm the safety of those devices either.
The TSA, which has deployed at least 500 body scanners to at least 78 airports, is allegedly re-analyzing the radiation levels, and said three months ago that the machines meet all safety standards and would remain in operation despite its "calculation error" in safety studies. TSA workers have voiced concern over the radiation dangers of the airport body scanning devices since last December, claiming they were kept in the dark by the TSA despite multiple requests for more information. Since last December the TSA has refused to release radiation inspection reports to its employees and the public it purportedly protects.

Complete bollocks.

UV radiation (photons) cannot reach atomic nuclei at all, except maybe inside some star, where pressures and temperatures are a tad higher. Here on Earth - forget it.

The SCALE of things being what they are, the NUCLEUS is a FLY in the center of a football stadium, and the photon is an even smaller fly that's interested in the stadium (the electron shells), and not the fly.
The nucleus "fly" is actually a bunch of quarks "bagged up" inside THE WEAK FORCE. The "bag" of the Weak Force keeps OUT electrons and photons by a WIDE MARGIN. that's why the fly is in a stadium.
Only if the stadium is SQUEEZED small enough will the flies be forced to meet each other.
That's what Gamma Rays are all about...

Backscatter scanners are x-ray machines. While the risk to infrequent travelers is low, the risk to frequent fliers and TSA staff is not. People are going to get cancer from these machines.

Depleting uranium? Street AND pharmaceutical? (It then gets funnier still.)
The very basic reason is that "they" understand something (in each case) that you don't.

Gosh what woo. "directly reflect our consciousness" - eh? Little homunculi, are they, all the billions of the nuclei each and individually reflecting our minds, are they?
What a waste of time the brain and its 10^64 neurones turned out to be...

You're right of course. The only safe level of radiation is NO radiation. But life is full of risk factors, and this means of increasing our risk of cancer is simply another of the costs of maintaining our current foreign policy.
It's an avoidable risk. Many are not.

yeti Wrote:the risk to frequent fliers and TSA staff is not.
"This (DOSE) is equivalent to the exposure a person receives in about 30 minutes from natural background radiation or about 8 minutes of flight at altitude." Page 138.
You have to remember the DOSE is what the subject receives, and not what the operator receives; there is shielding and distance between the two.
Scrutinizing the tests this equipment has to pass (mentioned in this document) IMO they have done all that could possibly ever be done to make it safe for continual use.
Which causes one to wonder what's the motivation here?

Transmutation in a paper by Lyne is supported by many
even on the net full of anti Tesla cartel agents.

UV can knock K shell or K orbit electron, thats why the atom
is small or aw 19 and under for UV to be effective, into the
proton transmuting to a neutron giving off neutrino and X-Rays
and perhaps more. The process is reversible.

UV thus causes artificial radiation as a term used by Lyne
to denote inactivity of aw 19 elements and under elements until
the UV is administered. Thus air and some compounds are effected
and I guess Lyne puts the Moray generator into that type of
free energy generation by radiation. The air has free ions 500
per cu cm from cosmic radiation alone.
