World's biggest experiment to unlock secrets of Big Bang could cause the end of the world
Quote:It has cost more than £4billion and is designed to unlock the secrets of the Big Bang.

But rather than providing vital information about the beginning of life, the world's biggest experiment could cause the end of the world.

Scientists fear that the Large Hadron Collider - due to be switched on in just nine days' time - will create a mini-black hole that could swallow the planet.

By smashing sub-atomic particles together at speeds close to the speed of light, the LHC aims to recreate the conditions that existed a fraction of a second after the Big Bang, shedding light on the building blocks of life.

But critics claim that the 'time machine' which is housed deep underground near Geneva could instead spawn a shower of mini-black holes.

Within just four years, one of these 'celestial vacuums' could have swollen to such a size that it is capable of sucking the Earth inside-out, said Otto Rossler, one of a group of scientists mounting a last-minute court challenge against the project.

They claim the experiment violates the right to life under the European Convention of Human Rights.

Professor Rossler, a German chemist, said the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, or CERN, has admitted its project create black holes but doesn't consider them to be a risk.

He warned: 'My own calculations have shown it is quite plausible that these little black holes survive and will grow exponentially and eat the planet from the inside.

'I have been calling for CERN to hold a safety conference to prove my conclusions wrong but they have not been willing.'

But those involved in the project have dismissed the claims as 'absurd' and insist that extensive safety assessments have found the experiment, which is funded by 20 countries, including the UK, to be safe.

A report written earlier this year stated: 'Over the past billions of years, nature has already generated on Earth as many collisions as about a million LHC experiments - and the planet still exists.'

The life span of any mini-black holes would be 'very short', it added.

CERN spokesman James Gillies said the arguments before the European Court of Human Rights had been answered in 'extensive safety assessments'.

He told the Sunday Telegraph: 'The Large Hadron Collider will not be producing anything that does not happen routinely in nature due to cosmic rays.

'If they were dangerous we would know about it already.'

The most powerful physics experiment ever built, the LHC will attempt to recreate the conditions that existed immediately after the birth of the universe, or the Big Bang.

Beams of protons will be propelled through an 18-mile-long circular tunnel lined with powerful magnets designed to accelerate the tiny particles.

When they reach almost the speed of light, they will be smashed head-on into each other, breaking them into their constituent parts, including, perhaps, the building blocks of the universe.

It does seem ironic that scientists speak for Nature yet there's only 20 years of freshwater on the planet and industrial society has caused a rate of species extinction faster than any previous extinction. Throw in nuclear contamination and toxic waste and CERN is just the next logical step in what Science has done for Nature.

I agree with you Drew, but I think this panic over cern is just pure paranoia.

It's kind of like this: physics has always been driven by military research and in this case the real goal is controling space. It may not seem that way but the same thing happened with nuclear weapons research -- now we have tritium and depleted uranium all over the planet with no one even acknowledging the threat (except http://nukewatch.com). On the contrary even Obama promotes nuclear "energy." Ah particle physics -- so progressive. Not to mention cluster bombs being cranked out by MN-based Alliant Tech while Laos is still covered with 10s of millions of them, still maiming innocent farmers. Ah but that's not science -- it's weapons kind of like agent orange or round-up or was it rBGH or was it eugenics... or was it sanitation.... 20 years left of freshwater so I hope that God particle gets discovered real soon or I might step on a cluster bomb (or step on a terrorist's foot by accident -- hell I know many people who got arrested this weekend for just PLANNING to protest the RNC).... paranoid -- you don't even get that luxury!

I get you, but this still doesn't warrant fear of CERN itself, just the motivations behind it.

When someone says "it works experimentally" I assume they mean for the Western world when in fact there's only 20 years of freshwater left on the planet. Does that work for you? haha. I was just reading Leon Lederman's (of the God Particle fame) symmetry book and he triumphs the mathematical principle that whenever a new symmetry of math is discovered a new conservation of energy experiment is discovered. But then there's those damn infinitely stretched strings....the time-frequency uncertainty principle discovered by Dennis Gabor pre-empts the energy-momentum uncertainty principle:

The truth is every mass has a Schwarzchild radius.

Every particle can stop light from passing by if you aim the light close enough. Every particle is a black hole.

There is no danger here.

A time machine in Geneva? What the hell is that all about?

Well let me put it another way: Every particle in the universe is a black hole. Some require better aim than others.

It's impossible to have a growing black hole in a tunnel.

Black holes don't suck and they don't grab you. They trap you.

"They trap you."

thats one thing in common with science and other golden cages.

the 'world' has potentially been ending for quite some time now, with or without homoerotic particle humping, imho cern is more a mirror of why, a mirror of the recklessness in general.
we will see in the future what new type of degenerate tech will develop from this baby.

sometimes it doesn't take a meteor to call it a day.

Going through the pineal gland black hole enables harmonizing the electrochemicals of perception into electromagnetic light that bends spacetime. Science goes through the black hole of the arse --

In the midst of a spiritual battle here while in full-lotus -- a young female across is arguing with her boyfriend and while she soaks up my electromagnetic energy this pervert male is sitting behind me desperately shaking his foot with his legs crossed to pull down my pineal gland energy turning it back into seminal fluid for him. OK he got distracted by this jock rock heavy metal and then the female got distracted by her anger leaving me a window of opportunity. Here we go again -- o.k. the song ended, and her anger dissipated after one O at a D. Anything more would be too intrusive at this point but more importantly the pervert left. haha.

So then she still was angry but the perv left and another young female sat nearby so I just shot energy into the other female and let the first one pick up the residual energy. The first female noticed I was looking at the new female while I was in full-lotus and she was then able to look at me and felt more comfortable with me. As her anger increased with her boyfriend again I turned to her again and shot energy into her. Just as we achieved the second climax she finished it by turning and looking straight into my eyes -- causing me to turn away. So then her boyfriend took solace in the same video game that the perv had been playing behind me and urged her to play it as well. She sat by him for awhile and since she was now directly behind me she could soak up the energy through the back of my head. This works but obviously not as strong as direct eye contact. Then I noticed her actually reading my computer screen and I had googled my name to check for any updates of online discussion! haha. Not sure how much she read but she almost immediately went back to her seat and turned towards me and went spread eagle. Well she put one leg up with the foot on the chair and the other out at an angle and so I just turned directly towards her and had my back against the wall and looked directly into her yoni and we then had the third climax (the first "real" climax since with internal vagus nerve climaxes the first two are preliminary). So she got what she needed and as we climaxed I was cracking my back and relieving my stress and then right when we climaxed she crossed her legs and I turned away and that was that. Soon after she left with her boyfriend and she was in good spirits. Then I went to another cafe, read while having several other mutual climaxes with three different females -- there were two pervs working that cafe but they couldn't do much about it. And so it goes.

it's of no conCERN to this thread. From now on save the metaporn for your blogs or private messages to anyone who's dysfunctional enough to actually be interested in hearing about these same old same old repetitive mind wank accounts. Otherwise really interesting posts, Drew.

Yeah I've been listening to "ECHOES OF THE FOREST" all night -- it's an amazing Pygmy c.d. and it's very similar but not quite as intense as NAMBIA: MUSIC OF THE JU'HUANSI BUSHMEN or close to that spelling. So I had to special order both of these and the later is the real thing -- intense trance dance music that was the original shamanism from 10,000 BCE to 80,000 BCE and older.

I just finished the book NORTH TO THE NIGHT: A YEAR IN THE ARTIC ICE by Alvah Simon (1999). He has spent his life living with indigenous cultures and this book is the climax of that training. He has a precognitive dream about this artic fox and then he actually stands right up to a huge polar bear that amazingly spares his life. The book is full of near encounters with death -- all true and his love for life is really powerful. He lived alone on a boat in the Artic and almost went insane but pulled through somehow. As he reports the Inuit have this "Drum Song" that was banned by the Danes but the Inuit still practice dream songs, just like the aborigines, literally resonating with the consciousness of reality that creates life in Nature.
