The Electric Car
Youve probably experienced pollution; its the smog and other contaminants that float in the air we breathe.
In some cities around the world such as Los Angeles, Mexico City and the latest news from China, you can hear radio or TV alerts like the following...
<span style="color:#FF0000">
Alert, today the levels of pollution in the air are high.
Children and the elderly should not go outside,
Those who practise an outdoor sport should not do so,
People with asthma should carry their inhalers at all times,
The rest should avoid going out, or wear a mask when doing so.

agreed, my friends that live the narrowboat life mourn that day though lol

The Electric Car
Quote:Electric cars obtain their energy from electrical power stations. The BURN takes place there. There is NO GAIN by using electric vehicles, because of the efficiency losses of both the station and its transmission lines.
I disagree. There are a lot of advantages of electric cars.
- They are more silent which is an environmental advantage right there.
- The emissions are about the same, but they will be emitted at one place, the power plant, and not "everywhere the car goes".
- Also, if they find an alternative source of energy right now, imagine, every car would be able to use the new energy right then and there. Not possible with combustion engines.
- People with solar collectors on their roofs will be able to power their own car with their own energy.
- Power plants don't burn oil, they burn coal, which is much, much cheaper.
Anyone care to argue?

Yes, but now they run on gas which is far worse. If burning oil was any cheaper or cleaner than burning coal, we wouldn't burn any coal now, would we?
Yea, but IF a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his ass evertime he tried to fly.
Sometimes the "cure" is worse than the illness.

The Electric Car
Quote:Using the current standard of making electricity is worse than gas, not that gas is good but replacing one posion for another will not be any better.
I disagree. This is really two questions got mixed up in this. Should we replace the coal based electricity with something better, sustainable, cleaner? Yes we should. No argument there.
The second question is, should we replace our legacy of oil / gas - based combustion engines with modern, clean, silent electric cars? My answer is YES we should, this would benefit the environment greatly. Is that the only thing we should do? NO, we should still replace the basis for that energy with something better.
You, my friend, and I believe, unwillingly so, are reciting propaganda of the fake environmentalist groups and now the Obama campaign. They have two things in stock for you:
1. They want to ruin the coal industry and that way crash the food market (because it's an energy dependent market). That's exactly what Obama said, he wants to tax CO2 so higly, that coal companies go bankrupt. Go look it up.
2. They want to keep the world hooked on oil / gasoline stranglehold. They (the British / Arab oil industry) have a monopoly on running cars, and the electric car would kill this monopoly. With an electric car, you are free to choose where your energy comes from. You want to pay your neighbour to power your car with his solar panels? Done. You want to make a deal with that company that makes energy from bio-mass? No problem.
What I'm saying is, do you realize that the only way to sustain the status quo is WAR with oil producing countries, and by promoting fuel engines over electric cars you help justify the myth that the oil monopoly depends on?
Just stop and think for a minute.

The Electric Car
I have no problem with electric cars but before we make them, we have to have a way to produce the electricity cleanly. The oil prices are set by the IMF & World Bank both in London and NY, not the oil countries.
I know there are a lot of fake enviornmental groups out there, but facts are facts. Believe it or not, even before Obama was even a twinkle in his father's eye, the bad things that coal emits and the destruction done in it's name are equally as bad. Even Ray Charles can see the devastation of mountain top removal, no myth, fact. Thos mountain tops the are removing will cause speending winds, winds that could be used for wind generators, plus, research what lack of resistance does to land...it's called the desert.
The way I figure it is that if we're going to screw up the world, our part should be included with it. Using coal techology is as bad a nuclear. Just because we don't see it first hand it doesn't mean it will come our way. Problem is, somebody else pays dearly first. IMHO, the coal companies should go under along with the same ones that rule the oil.
I've spoken with people where they are destroying their areas, it is pathetic. Before the oil rush it was the coal rush. These are both PTB companies. Of course Nuclear energy, we can always do what we do best and use the DU on other countries. Sound like an option.
Electric cars would be great, as long as nobody has to plug them up, ever, and it is possible. There are also other motors that use quantum physics. Ever wonder how a satelittle keeps going decade after decade where sunlight isn't enough, fuel couldn't last that long, yet they still run. The NASA patents that have expired are plenty. We could have made the change years and years ago.
Research what damages are done from both oil and coal. The search who owns who. I'd like to say the workers at the coal and oil fields cound be retrained, but since most industry is being sent to Russia, China, and anywhere else they have slave labor, it probably wouldn't happen. Looks like GM & Ford will be all alone with all those factories being built in Russia.
Look at the big picture, not good guy bad guy, but bad guy, bad guy. Either way, we're caught destoring ourselves and enslaved.
