program for converting text to mp3?
i know there are various text to speech (voice) programs available, some that even allow you to change and adjust the voice of the 'reader'.. others save the output to mp3. does anyone know of a complete program that allows input of multiple forms in text; be it pdf, txt, doc, word, etc.. then outputs speech that can be adjusted/manipulated for speed and pronunciation and saved in mp3 format??

automatic books on tape, eh??

i have tons of gsxr's compilations, yet never have the time to sit infront of the comp screen to read them.

if i could put them on my ipod, and in a voice i could readily understand.. that would be awesome.

someone has got to know.

I played with this when I use to run windows. There were two torrents I downloaded. One was from microsoft and the other I'm not sure but they both worked fine. They could read most any text document but the voices were not that great from what I remember.I can't tell you more because I removed them about a year ago so I could shrink the widows partition.I think the other program started with an L.It was a long name. Also there are two things the program(or engine) that runs the voice and the voices them selfs must be installed also.I wish I could be more help but I installed these things about three years ago.

hmm.. you think i am a geek?? or better yet, i should become more like one? :P

i just remember seeing on the tracker sight someone making a comment about using a program that did just this. i cant for the life of me remember who it was, or what program they were using.

i am playing around with NaturalReader 7.0 and 2nd Speech Center.. both are hard to understand at times and have limited pronunciation control.

maybe the technology isnt as far progressed as i guessed... though i really find that hard to imagine. just gotta know what to look for.

The old C-64 voice program sounded like a demon. :geek:

PM me and i'll help you get the program and filters if needed.

Also! Again not sure if you know, but..

Audacity is a sweet free tool for audio editing [does virtual everything*]

*Won't cook you dinner but does the job regardless.. nice free program.:P

Hi. My favorite is VocaTalk Personal Podcast. This app is specially designed for listening really large content. it puts music, adds audio fx like voice modulation and positional audio. It also publishes local podcasts for easily managing episodes. It's really cool to listen TTS with music playing in the background. Check it out here: http://www.vocamedia.com
