Yes. My 17 year old son. A local group of think tankers. A local community support group. A few people I have been friends since childhood. It is important to key in on a good opening that matters to the audience or individual for best results. Of course, some people tread a little shallower but it seems this influx of thruthiness and alternative media has at least opened the door to discussion.

Often the natural push to pursue independent conclusions are hijacked by alternative media organizations that throw a bone out off the scent to make people feel like they have a solid grasp on a particular subject matter. The way the tea party movement was set up.

There is plenty of controlled opposition from the likes of Huffington Post, RT, Natural News, Bill Maher, Jesse Ventura, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan, Howard Stern and Jon Stewart that serve to feed a public sound bytes that really is too overworked in their day to day life and/or distracted and/or is just a little too lazy to put even just a little more effort into a topic and that smells fishy and swallow whole the alternative spin.

Almost without fail I find that these views, if adopted as a verbatim standalone position, can drive a wedge in public opinion. This polarizing agenda has created a multitude of niche steadfast opinions. This has the real effect of leading people into debating topics on what is right or true; thus leaving us falling far short of a targeted approach to address problems in applying a more effective discussion > planning > enacting a solution route.
There are no others, there is only us.

After that, nothing was ever believed again (at "face value"), without serious assessment and/or study. Later, in the early 90s a man named Bill Cooper started broadcasting on the shortwaves. He put many of the things that I thought about into a perspective that was easily digested. He also introduced me to subjects that I had no idea of. If I wasn't totally convinced, by then (that most everything was 180 degrees, out of phase), Cooper pushed me over the edge. I'm sure there were many other factors, but these are the major "events" that lead to my "downfall", becoming the much ridiculed, "conspiracy theorist" that I am, today.

Nutrition is a fascinating subject. I wouldn't mind some parts of being a nurse. Too bad I would have to go along with too many things I disagree with. You ever think about starting a Health Talk or Blog?

That would make an interesting podcast! Try it and see how it turns out!
Yes, and it ends up 2% the original subject matter and the rest of it is me babbling about stuff that's confused me. Like shiny things.

See this hand? It is MINE.
See these things? THEY are mine.

Damn the shiny things!

It really does help having someone to talk to about these topics. I tried to get some people together in my community by giving them my email address. No one ever gets back to me. These are people that are somewhat aware of what's going on. For some reason they don't want to do anything about it. Maybe they are scared or maybe they feel like they can't make difference. It could be lazziness.

Perhaps a combination. I recall a time in my life when it seemed that such matters were out of my control (which depends upon perception) and that I was to accept them as fact without comprehending the data behind them.

My recent foray into common law has opened my eyes quite a bit. I find that as I acquire more knowledge the world continues to shrink in size to me.

I would hope that there were folks here, at least as old as me. ....But, I don't feel too "smart" when I try to decipher the "code" that JFK and thokling have been posting on "[MyCode] tags and their use in posts". (Actually, I feel like an idiot. Perhaps it's "early senility".) If I can figure all that out, I'll feel much better. ...(it does seem to work LOL I'll have to bookmark it for future reference!)

Use your years of knowledge, wisdom and experience to enlighten the younger crowd. I'd say the biggest thing is to encourage people to expand their awareness. The minds of the young tend to be more open to information, so it might be easier (and more productive) to focus on them instead of the old folk, who tend to get set in their ways.

Generally speaking, anyway.

Please feel free to post your questions in that "MyCode tags" thread. BBcodes in any form shouldn't be at all alien to users, so if any of us can help we shall.
