From the book: "Since the dawn of the first romantic kiss, men and women have been magnetically and irresistibly drawn into romantic relationships, not so much by what they see, feel and think, but more by an invisible and irresistible force. When individuals with healthy emotional backgrounds meet, the result is a loving, reciprocal and stable relationship. However, when Emotional Manipulators & Codependents meet, they are enveloped in a magnetic and seductive "love force," it begins like a fairy-tale, but later unfolds into a painful "seesaw of love/pain and hope/disappointment. The soul mate of the Codependent's dreams becomes the Emotional Manipulator of his/her nightmares."

RE: Codependancy and toxic relationships
A fascinating phenomenon to study. It seems to be a matter of abuser-meets-victim that locks the two together in a perpetually, mutually destructive relationship where the behaviours feed back on one another.
Truth appears in many forms. Find those that resonate with you.

- "If we do not believe in freedom of speech for those we despise, we do not believe in it at all." - Noam Chomsky
- "Humans are not a rational animal, but a rationalizing one." - Leon Festinger
