Kim Dot Com is back!
Kim Dot Com has launched Mega now.
it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts and whether the *IAA's go after it, or really when to be honest.
it gives you 50GB free and is 2048 bit encrypted https://mega.co.nz
i opened an account with a sneaky email.
just thought i'd let you know it's there

Wonderful! I was wondering what would come of all this, nice to see he is back. Now, any ideas on how I can get a mansion in New Zealand?

(So is this legit or not? I don't want to mess up the computer going here)

Firefox warning below

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to mega.co.nz, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

the site will also try to punt google chrome to you.
don't worry about it, while technically they are correct in what they say it'll actually make very little difference to be honest bud.

I did fine accessing it via FF16 and FF17, no warning. It could just be some nosy agents trying to scare people.

RE: Kim Dot Com is back!
When your Web browser tells you the connection is untrusted, it's because you're attempting to connect using HTTPS instead of HTTP. HTTPS causes the browser to request the SSL certificate from the server.

SSL certificates are generated either by a recognised provider or by the Web site using 'openssl'. If the certificate comes from a trusted authority, you won't get that message. If it was generated otherwise, your connection is still probably secure.

In other words, it's a cheaper way for Web sites admins to add SSL functionality to their Web site.

Certificates can also be generated by a provider which browsers don't automatically trust, like the CA Cert Signing Authority, which issued this site's certificate.

Yeah, that too. Similar to the DIY openssl method in that (some) browsers don't have those "authorities" flagged as recognised. Thanks for the extra info.
